Tonight, my most keenly anticipated outing of the Festival Season - The Bad Plus...
Anne was along this evening and we met up with photographer Stu Cobley of Creek in the outdoors bar beforehand for a drink and a chat...
We decided we need to do some more Creeking and Stu is going to take charge of organising the calling back together of the group's members...
As we made our way into the hall, we met none other than Dr Prog on his way in with his friends...
The gig was sublime...
As ever, there were the occasional distractions from other audience members (why can't my favourite bands just come and play in my living room?) but, all in all, I was able to concentrate for the full 90 minutes...
They played almost everything from their great new album, "Prog" including my favourite three tracks, "Giant", "Physical Cities" (their encore) and an exhilirating take on David Bowie's "Life on Mars?", and added a few brand new numbers...
Suffice to say I was more than happy on leaving the concert with Anne and Stu - even though we failed to relocate Dr Prog in the aftermath...
Stu took a bus home while Anne and I had a meal at Gordon's Trattoria before making our way home utilising this same mode of transport...
Your correspondent was the proverbial happy bunny...
