Up a wee bit earlier today, on the final day of October...

Breakfast...

...and then, with Anne out shopping with her mum, some work on this year's family calendar...

Added some LPs gifted over Dropbox from Prog Rock Willie...

And attempts at remixes for Blue Sun Chasing - but the equipment kept playing up so I abandoned it and listened to some CDs instead...

These plus a few others...

Lunch on Anne's return and we started watching the new thing about the formation of the SAS in the North African Desert in 1941...

Reasonable...

Anne also finally started the cat...

On the subject of cats, no sign of wee Fang for a couple of days now...

Yoghurt and fruit mid afternoon...

...while Robert sent me over some old photos...

His mum and dad on their wedding in 1952, my then 21 year old mum on the right...

In this one, my then 22 year old dad is directly behind my mum...

Ten years later, the book of Subbuteo Scores from 1962 to 1978...

The "championships" started just over 60 years ago...

It seems I made my debut in April 1972...

...while Robert joined the fray in May 1976...

From 1979, Robert's mum and dad's invite to sister Sheila's wedding...

The four musketeers in Weston Super Mare in 1981...

...and my mum and dad with Edith in Loanhead, around Christmas 1988, shortly after Denny had died - nephew Andy's arm to the left...

Ah, nostalgia...

Speaking of which, listened to an LP while doing some background reading...

The sibilance of records is very annoying...

I had to put the CD on for side two...

With Anne off to Pilates with Lynn, I re-fired up the machines and managed a mix on the first of two BSC tracks and pinged it over to Edward Spark..

He was pleased...

Whilst mixing, I was also in charge of baked potato prep for Anne's return...

We enjoyed the next episode of "Star Trek ; Strange New Worlds" (I suspect we've given up on "Discovery")...

Then, the slightly scary and creepy "Devil's Hour" was commenced...

Scary and creepy...

Fitting for Halloween...

Finished the day by completing the second BSC remix and pinging it to an already in bed Sparky...

Off to bed myself with a mock up of the proposed CBQ end of year sweep up release, "Twentytwentytwo"...

Sounding promising...

Sunday once again...

I figured my old iPod did not push the time back overnight...

So I stayed in bed a little longer...

Turned out it did, so I was once again up late...

Breakfast was some porridge with honey...

...and the music was 1979...

I took Anne to her mum's via picking up Jane, then drove out to Loanhead and did my mum's shopping and delivered it...

She says "hi"...

Then to the bank for her and then, the arrival of Robert and Anne Jardine and young Cole Jardine, Robert's 4 year old grandson...

Back in the 60's and 70's our families visited each other almost monthly - Robert, Anne and their four sisters, Laura, Evelyn, Elizabeth and Alison's mum, Edith, went to school with my mum...

My dad and Edith's husband, Denny, played Subbuteo Table Football on each visit and Denny kept books with the scores...

Eventually I and, a couple of years later, Robert, started playing too...

Denny died suddenly in 1988 aged just 59...

Edith passed away in late 2015...

My mum and dad were both only children so Edith and Denny were our "aunt and uncle" while the Jardine kids were the closest me and my sisters got to cousins...

It was great to see them again and much reminiscing was done...

I've not seen my mum so happy for a good while...

With the visit over and the Jardines off into the dark, I made my mum's tea...

...before heading home for my own with Anne...

We finished off the second season of "Superman & Lois" (a third is apparently on the way next year) and watched the highlights of Hearts' 2-1 win in Dingwall today...

And, all too soon the weekend was over...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Catching up with old friends...

Up too late to have any chance whatsoever of getting the podcast out on time...

...but set about recording it anyway...

...an hour's break was taken for breakfast...

...with the result that it was not uploaded till almost midday...

My lunch comprised a leftover sandwich from yesterday which Anne hadn't eaten and the leftover chicken from a couple of nights ago - still tasty...

And, this afternoon, Anne was off out for a long, leisurely lunch of her own with chum Lorraine...

I took her in to town and we parked at the office, then I took a bus (or a couple of buses) up to Morningside for a trawl around...

All I found was this...

Pretty disappointing - as was the 3-1 drubbing handed to Queens by Falkirk in Dumfries...

A note on the car from chum Spike when I arrived back - liking the Hearts-like colour...

One last try over at Davidsons Mains on the way home for anything of interest - nothing - after pumping an errant front tyre...

The early evening spent in the back room, listening to Faure and surfing and noting all the CDs I have...

...to which the Faure has now been added...

Tea was a pretty rubbish Quorn and onion pasta...

Finally, contact with Anne made and I had to go out to bring her home, due to the lack of buses re the stupid rugby game this afternoon...

We caught up with "Superman & Lois" and watched some other things I don't recall...

Not the best ever Saturday...

Highlight of the Day : Erm, getting the podcast done I suppose...

Up late again...

I was looking for new releases and no records were played...

Just after 8, off out to see how I'd done in my first week back on the wagon...

A good meet and a good result and then a walk home...

...for a healthy breakfast of bacon medallions, eggs, mushrooms and beans, with toast...

Then, out for another walk down to the tower in the park to meet up with the Zumba ladies, Sheila, Lynn and Anne...

...for a coffee (they'd already had scones) and to enjoy the art...

Further walking up to the main street...

...with its traffic cameras...

...and charity shops, where these were partaken of at 50p a pop...

Lunch was the remainder of yesterday's lovely green soup...

...and yoghurt and berries...

I compiled the content for the podcast, including the 2 CDs purchased today and everything downloaded this morning...

Fang popped by of course...

An extremely tasty tea featured the "best potatoes ever" and lovely coated lamb...

...and was followed by the recording of the links for the podcast but not the recording, which meant I would be way behind tomorrow unless I got up super early...

This because the rest of the evening was spent in front of the telly, including Taylor Swift on Graham Norton, sadly, not singing...

Highlight of the Day : Out and about with the ladies...
