And July gone...

This wee monkey spotted for the first time in a while on  my way down the road - no sign of its sibling though...

A prospective change around, intending to facilitate a permanent"studio" set up was vetoed by the Exec Producer...

This is the only surviving record of the attempt...

...reflected in today's artwork, named before the reaction, "The New Set Up Taking Shape"...

As ever, ended Tuesday with "Holby City"...

Big blue nails...

Playlist

Elias Quartet - Live At The Wigmore Hall 12 September 2010
Amjad Ali Khan - Indian Classical Ragas
Elias Quartet - Live At The Wigmore Hall 29 December 2008
Madredeus - Faluas do Tejo

The remainder of the new classical discs enjoyed first thing...

Some sorting out of CD purchases made over the last year or so - getting them into order - actually filing them will have to wait for another day...

Rehearsing for the gig...

Then, took Anne to her mum's for Hearts last game in the group stage of the League Cup - they had to beat Inverness - and did so 5-0...

Queens were not playing but the other results meant they too qualified...

I the first knock out round Hearts are away to Dunfermline and Queens are at home to St Johnstone...

A visit to my mum in the meantime, during which she enjoyed the pics from last week's big wedding...

With my mum working the laptop, it took almost as long as the wedding itself to make our way through the pics...

Round to Anne's mum's for teas...

I'd not seen Olly and Kitty since ealry June due to holidays etc...

Kitty's nails were a highlight...

Due to almost all attendees having been at the football, a Chinese takeaway was ordered...

When we arrived, we were told they's estimated the cost at £11 higher than actual...

Good chat back at the house - the view form the office...

...which is the basis of today's artwork, "Tree Through Blinds"...

Highlight of the Day : Showing my mum the wedding pics and seeing the kids again...

Up quite early...

It seemed the heatwave was going to continue...

But it didn't...

Podcast put together and uploaded...

One of the new classical discs enjoyed and an old LP by the support act for Fehlfarben in October downloaded and enjoyed...

Then, to work on "choosing" next week's tracks...

I used a random number generator to, firstly, choose one page from the two red books of CDs I own and, secondly, a CD on said page...

Twenty chosen...

A track from each decided upon - running order maintained as per the randomness...

We'll see...

Errands with Anne down in the village, followed by a tasty lunch at the Torfin, a place which was once a down at heel pub, the clientele of which one time, infamously, all stopped talking and looked round when we walked in for a drink...

It's better now...

Probably too much for a lunch...

Then, a visit to the strictly no photos Corstorphine Art Group annual exhibition, each of us voting for our two favourite paintings (no pics obvs)...

Back home for some Tivo watching and music listening...

In the evening, we were going to watch "The Martian" till Anne realised its running time...

Accordingly, "Minions" was enjoyed...

Today's artwork, "Downfall"...

Highlight of the Day : Out and about with the EP...

Up very early...

Uploading the pics from last Saturday's wedding - not doing so has been causing a log jam re entries here...

Now it is done...

And, while it was happening, I was downstairs updating the red book of CDs I own, with around the last 60 or so acquisitions...

Before...

After...

My excel spreadsheet is, unfortunately, now around a year behind - over 350 entries to be made...

This is how I waste my time...

Jumped off the bus early again, even earlier than yesterday - and so was afforded a view of the old Donaldson's School for the Deaf, now being turned into flats...

In the early evening, drinks and pizza with chums re the departure of youngest chum Struan - heading back to University after spending a few months working hard...

Back home around nine and these behind the door - £2 each in the Wigmore Hall sale...

Listening for tomorrow...

Meanwhile an eclipse of the moon took place, turning it red...

In the old days, sacrifices would have been made etc etc...

Now we know...

Except people still kill for God(s)...

Oh well...

Today's artwork, "Pile on Pile"...

Highlight of the Day : Drinks with chums...

The heatwave, etc etc...

The beast in the heatwave...

Views, skywards...

Turning the corner...

At lunchtime, a walk to Stockbridge...

I particularly liked this skyward view...

A purchase made at Shelter - see below...

Home, still sweltering...

This evening, listening to today's purchase - a superb 4CD set of Locatelli's Violin Concertos 1-12 ()pus 3) - spellbinding violin virtuosity - not cadenzas but actually written by Locatelli...

Extremely tasty...

Today's artwork, "Yellow Container, Blue Sky"...

Highlight of the Day : Locatelli box...
