February away, with its extra day this year...
Up early as is the usual way...

Once again started the day with "The Dark Room" - this time, it seemed ok...

The new regime of shutting down/restarting seems to be working...

Views...

Banana for breakfast...

Work to day included recording the podcast that should have been out last weekend and posting it up...

Also, creating new between set mixes for the Dockers gig - tracks by all the artists on the poster but none of the tracks we will play - do you see what I did there?

Poster and tickets printed for the club notice board and bar - hopefully they will shift a few...

Downloading today comprised, mostly, The Osmonds...

They were in fact and in hindsight, much, much better than I ever gave them credit for at the time...

Highlight of the Day : Podcasting...

Midweek...

Up at 5:30 and listening back to what I thought was the finalised mix and master of "The Dark Room" on Bandcamp, I realised there was some element of distortion on two of the four tracks...

So, spent the first three hours of the day remixing the tracks, plus their 7", Instrumental and 7" instrumental counterparts, mastering them all again and reuploading....

Rocky popped by for precisely two minutes to provide some support...

Post breakfast, Fang also popped by...

On his exit after around 20 minutes, he slashed Anne's leg...

It's just what he does and we have no idea why...

"Leverage" and "Loudermilk" continued to entertain...

A playlist of all the original versions of our wedding setlist was put together, from the original LPs rather than comps, nine of which had to be acquired to do so - all in order to create a poster for the gig...

A quick and early tea...

...of tasty sausages and some chips, resulted in the front tooth repair I got almost 12 years ago being reversed...

...which is extremely annoying and somewhat embarrassing...

I have appointments lined up for later this month...

To the fives for the first time in 17 weeks...

It went much better than I ever imagined...

I was on the winning side - only my 4th game of "the season" but the 3 points lifted me at last off the bottom of the table...

Have put my name down for next week and will struggle through the leg pain for the next few days...

This evening, I reckoned Dio was probably the best heavy metal band ever...

...while Anne watched Hearts draw 1-1 with arch rivals Hibernian at Tynecastle on a rainswept night - the night of the Shankland Penalty Pie Incident...

Highlight of the Day : Cat visits...

Scenes...

...and coffee...

Mastering the remaining tracks for "The Dark Room", uploading it all to Bandcamp and starting to write the credits and sleevenotes...

Eggs for breakfast...

Out around 11:30 or so...

And down the hill...

We had our walking shoes on...

A bus to the Bridges and down the Royal Mile to Holyrood...

...to meet up with Ranger Sam...

...for a guided walk into Arthur's seat's environs...

Calton Hill, in the distance, was pointed out...

Then, as we went further in, out last view of the city...

Sam's expertise lay in geology so a lot of very, very long ago history was imparted to the group...

Apparently this rock comes from the hill we walked down this morning, five miles or so away...

It took a few million years inside a glacier to get here...

It was touched by the hand of the beast...

...and two possible future "Disquietmusik" album covers were taken...

On, to "the beach"...

...where the different wavelengths in the rocks signify the era in which they were "laid down", man...

The changeable weather provided occasional good views...

Our happy group, from Scotchland and around the world...

Purposeful striding from the Exec Producer...

...and more stories - many millions of years ago, Arthur's Seat was a volcano and, many millions of years after that but still many millions of years ago, 2.5 km of ice lay on top of the hill we see today...

The city swung back into view...

...as we made our way down the hill...

..to Hunter's Bog - nothing to do with Hunters but, rather, named for a Dutch engineer, who assisted with the reclaiming of bogland and, for his efforts, was rewarded with...

A bog...

...which the EP enjoyed the look of...

Almost at the end of the walk, views of St Margaret's Loch and the ruins of St Anthony's Chapel...

...and Ranger Sam showed us some very rare plants that he, personally has conserved and nurtured - along with rare insects and beasties - including nightly toad protection adventures...

And over...

A good couple of hours with interesting chat, great views and wee bit of mud...

From Holyrood, a walk down past Abbeyhill, Easter Rd and to Leith to the Dockers Club...

...to suss it out as a possible rehearsal/gig venue for the band...

...and, lo, it was good and will fit the proverbial bill...

We celebrated with drinks...

...before walking futher to the Shore in search of an early dinner...

Nothing was found though so we walked back to Leith Walk and found ourselves at Desi Pakwa...

...for a shared plate of very tasty but unpictured pakora, followed by this lot...

Yum!

A tram to Haymarket and a bus home, arriving around 7.5 hours after leaving...

Coffee and telly were the order of the evening...

A very enjoyable day indeed...

Highlight of the Day : Arthur's Seat, the club, the Indian...
