June gone...

More filing awaits...

...but it can wait...

To the machine...

...and noted I already have the just released 50th Anniversary edition of King Crimson's "USA" live LP - as it's a concert released in the big box set "The Road to Red" back in 2014...

So, I was able to add it to my iTunes pre breakfast, giving that and the concert from the box from 30 June 1974 too - also, coincidentally a Sunday...

All before an egg based breakfast...

We are nearing the end of "The Gentlemen" - last night's episode left us with just two to go...

While listening to my first two CBQ LPs the other day while filing, it occurred there's a lot of music I've not considered for the upcoiming Live Suite dates at Fopp and Whitby...

So, some considerable time was spent creating a 20 minute piece based around pre CBQ selections from 1977 to 1996...

I will return to that...

Before that last two of "The Gentlemen" tonight, an art gallery and a football match...

To visit Anne's mum around 2...

...and out for a short drive to the Gallery of Modern Art...

...for coffee and cake...

...in the garden...

...followed by...

...a look around...

The gardens were lovely...

This plant in particular being attractive to Anne - who has now ordered some seeds...

Back to the car...

...and home...

Some music work pre tonight's match...

Accompanied by loaded baked potatoes, England v Slovakia, ranked around 50 places below them (it is always the way)...

Regular readers will be aware that I loathe the England football team (whoever's in it)...

Because, however shite they are they somehow always come up smelling of English roses and, tonight, they were, indeed, shite...

Slovkia took the lead around 25 minutes in and looked to be putting England out...

Such utter and complete disappointment then, as England, so absolutely typically, equalised with just one minute of injury time remaining...

And then, to rub salt in the gaping wound, scored a winner in the first minute of extra time...

Sickening...

Still shit yet in the Quarter Finals...

And, of course, just how shite they are was once again forgotten by the media...

So...

Do not let us down Switzerland!!!

I could not bring myself to watch Spain v Georgia (both having qualified from the same group as Scotland, Georgia having scraped through a play off with Greece to get to the finals but, really, showed Scotland what they ought to have done)...

In the end though, trounced 4-1 by a Spanish side, who, along with Germany, must be faves - only thing is, as names are not drawn from hats (as would be fair) those two will meet in the Quarter Finals...

And so that's enough football for one day...

Ended it working on acoustic demos of three Crazy Wisdom songs which Malcolm and I will, hopefully, perform at the next Out of the Bedroom...

So that cheered me up a wee bit...

Highlight of the Day : A visit to a gallery...

Are Saturdays the best days?  Probably...

I was about my business early on...

Here I am creating another new CBQ record - "Gould"...

...as the sun came up...

How on earth did that happen Dave?

On ripping the new CDs from yesterday, I collected together the four performances I now have of Glenn Gould's Opus 1, his string quartet...

And, it occurred to me...

...that I could combine the four to create something new with Mr G's DNA...

I painstakingly edited each of the four renditions of the 30 odd minute piece to obtain the maximum slowness available and then combined each of them - each of course slightly different renditions - and treated them in a CBQ stylee...

And so, after a few hours work, this project becomes my ninth in the CBQ "composers" or "classical" series...

Which was celebrated with a nice breakfast...

Weekend-tastic!

Out to my mum's soundtracked by the new piece...

She was delighted to see me...

We counted up how many items she had in her freezer, she being convinced the next order was due to arrive next Wednesday...

As a result, I brought home four portions of "Beef & Potatoes" (leaving her with two) and, indeed, enjoyed one for my lunch...

Along with my new hat - or one of two new hats, ordered in the wake of supposedly losing my "anniversary" hat on Monday in that Glasgow...

While doing my mum's shopping, I bought a couple of pairs of jeans and wore one while listening to some music in the back room, as you do...

Tasty chili tonight pre some football and more "Gentlemen"...

...as the darkness descended...

Germany through -  I have supported them since my first visit there, 50 years ago, in 1974, when I discovered Konigssee...

In fact, we set off for Deutschland 50 years ago yesterday...

In honour of this, watching the match was soundtracked by tracks from 12 LPs released that year...

...not a single one of which was, however, bought that year...

Oh well...

Always like to get up early on a Friday...

Worked on the recording from last night and soon had it done - editing out all the botch ups etc etc...

Then, went to my "playlist of songs I might play at OOTB" and chose three more for a fortnight's time, at random...

...and rehearsed them, without recording at this stage...

...and sought out music by a few of last night's people, only partaking of Ashhy's songs, available on the Sp*tify, making a nice little EP, named after the one about the gay policeman love interest of a 14 year old girl...

Out...

...and into town for a meet at 11 - bacon will continue it seems, which is fine by me...

Post meet a wander around - getting caught in the rain a few times...

To Stockbridge where I found some nice items for a quid each in the BHF (see below)...

Back up to Princes St and then, up to Tollcross - rain coming and going but always coming when I was exposed on the street - which was annoying...

Back having secured nothing further and a walk down to Haymarket - a look around there too before going to Tesco to secure a couple of bottles of beer for today's late lunch/early tea...

Well…

Went into my bag to get my Fopp bag out to carry my 2 beers....

“Ah there’s my hat” I said to myself...

Followed swiftly by “wait a minute, I have my hat on!”...

Obviously my London hat is small enough to hide behind a Fopp bag...

Hmmm - I have two new hats winging their way to me as I type to replace this newly rediscovered one...

Anyway, met up with Bernardo at the Scots Guards at 3 for drinks, joined soon by Wendy...

Saw the lady who was supposed to be giving me spare dates re Sunday afternoon performances - she said she was very busy but hadn't forgotten - which is ok I suppose - at least we're still on the radar...

Into Rustom and joined by Gary, just back from Sitges...

...and Janine...

Poppadoms were followed by...

...Butterfly King Prawn, on Gaz's recommendation...

...and a slap up feed, with Lamb Jalfrezi for your correspondent...

Just a couple of bottles of Madri lager accompanied the meal and it was off home around 6 or so...

A visit from Rocky but she did not come in...

Some football, some "Gentlemen" and back to the machines at 8...

...for ripping and listening re today's £1 acquisitions...

The view from the office this evening...

Highlight of the Day : Out with chums...
