October away...

Out into the dawn, soundtracked by my faves from the 70's...

...a walk ensued...

...to the tram station at Balgreen...

...and into the centre...

...to St Andrew's Square...

Where I commenced my working life thirty five years ago this month, in the grey building seen just to the left of the statue...

The view...

A further walk along Rose St - the view then...

At lunchtime, more (unpictured) walking - down to Stockbridge - no purchases...

Home in the clocks turned back dark of the late afternoon...

The Beast had been about its business...

In the evening, we scored a dismal 85 on University Challenge - but we still beat Durham, who, in turn, were trounced by something called SOAS on 270...

Recording the links for this week's podcast before the finale of "Cold Feet" - it's passed the time in a reasonably entertaining manner...

Ended the day by recording the first hour of the broadcast...

Highlight of the Day : Walking....

Up early and even gained an hour...

The house is quiet without the Germans...

Uploaded the podcast -with them on the cover pic...

Messages later in the day advised a safe return home after a somewhat protracted journey...

Anne was off round to her mum's to meet up with Lynn and Ross re some changing of outside lights, which proved more problematic than imagined but was successfully completed nonetheless...

Spent some time adding albums to iTunes from Jorg's gifted hard drive - over 60 hours of Frank Zappa, Asia, Angel, Kluster, Cluster, Randy Pie, Grobschnitt, Eloy, Can, David Torn, Van der Graaf Generator, Gentle Giant, Udo Lindenberg, Focus and The Doors...

I even listened to some of it...

Lunch at home and then out to my mum's in the late afternoon...

The nights are fair drawing in...

"Oh so they are son"....

Good views from mum's front door...

Back home and more surfing and listening - bringing my "history of the single" up to date by choosing tracks for July to October this year - all four, Meghan Trainor, Green Day, Lady Gaga and The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk are songs I had not heard until tonight...

As it is these days with "popular" music...

Enjoyed fave singles from October 1959 to October 1979...

Later on, the return of "Humans"...

And soon, everything will be completely back to "normal"...

Highlight of the Day : Listening to old singles...

Once again, up early and "working" before the others emerged from sleep...

The last day for the boys...

Another excellent breakfast from the EP then off out, over to the top of Leith Walk and up Calton Hill...

This view is Jorg's favourite of Edinburgh...

The viewpoint offered other opportunities too...

This wee monkey was up there with its humans...

The Gensungen Boys...

Don't think I'd ever seen this garden before - though I do have a very vague recollection of having visited it...

Weird...

The quartet...

Down the hill and down Leith Walk, inevitably, stopping in at Vinyl Villains...

...and on, down as far as Elvis Shakespeare, before heading back for a coffee etc at No 30...

Back to Vinyl Villains on the way home and Jorg spent the last of his sterling on Jimi Hendrix and John Coltrane...

Back home, one last episode of "Blacklist" and then, to the airport...

Not the best pic but here we are...

And off they went - we will see them next year we hope for Documenta 14 in Kassel...

Back home, and the rooms were quickly reclaimed...

I recorded this week's podcast, including some input from the Germans, while Anne enjoyed "Strictly"...

Some late night viewing re "Red Dwarf" and Zapped"...

"Blacklist" no more...

All over...

Highlight of the Day : Calton Hill views....
