Nothing on earth remains but fame...

Playlist
Hawkwind- Stasis The UA Years 1971-1975
Justin Rutledge - The Early Widows
Billion Dollar Babies - Battle Axe
Iggy Pop - The Idiot
Sly & The Family Stone - Essential
King Crimson - A Scarcity of Miracles
D'Indy - String Quartets 1 & 2

A very tasty breakfast and then over to Jane & Bobby's at 11 to pick up Olly...

We were off to Stirling today - to the Wallace Monument...

Olly and Ansem seem to have struck it off...

And it's been great to have Jorg back in Scotland...

Ansem collects flattened coin souvenirs from wherever he sees a machine...

Up the hill to the monument...

Which, even at its base, afforded spectacular views...

Four fifths of the quintet...

An artist's impression of Mr Wallace...

Stirling Castle in the distance...

Inside and up...

The Wallace Sword - the fabric around the handle is supposedly a strip of skin, taken from a fallen enemy, from their head to their heel...

Its provenance, like much we "know" today of this Scottish hero is questionable...

Onward...

This is the name of the tower - which had its foundation stone laid in 1861...

A good name indeed...

Meanwhile, Ansem is five months older than Olly but considerably shorter...

Up to the very top for the best views of the day...

A storm appeared to be coming...

The bridge in the centre of the pic below is Stirling Bridge, the battle of which was Wallace's greatest victory...

The University Campus, where Capital Models played back in 1980, just before I moved to Germany and met Jorg...

A random photo which resulted from the wind blowing the camera as it attempted a timed shot of the visitors...

The lady in the last pic took this for us - safer option...

The beast was about its business on the Wallace Monument...

BAck down - and some of the gift shop wares were given a try...

Down the hill to the cafe where tasty cakes were partaken of...

Our guests for the week (day)...

A drive into Stirling and to Europa Music...

Good discussions with Olly regarding vinyl and how the different formats work(ed) re 45s, LPs, 78s etc...

I just take it for granted re such things but I had to explain how a 7" and an LP could be played on the same record player...

A couple of purchases for me - the last "King Crimson" album "A Scarcity of Miracles" and a disc of D'Indy string quartets on Naxos...

Out and the storm was approaching...

Into the car and a drive home, where Jorg attempted to sort a problem with Ansem's back...

Yummy pizzas for tea form the Exec Producer...

Then, while the boys checked their phones...

..Anne enjoyed the final of "Bake Off"...

This was followed by the now requisite episodes of "Blacklist", after which the Germans hit the sack and we enjoyed this week's "Big Bang"...

Another buy day...

Highlight of the Day : A trip with the boys...
