Up early and updating this in a relocated site re visitors...

Before their arising, I drove to Patisserie Florentin for croissants...

There was a bit of a magpie conference in a nearby tree...

After breakfast we were off to Falkirk to visit "The Kelpies" - one of the largest equine related sculptures in the world apparently...

There now follows probably too many pics of two 100ft high horses, people admiring them and taking pics of them...

They are there to celebrate the horses which once towed the barges along the canal system linking the North Sea with the Atlantic - at the time it was the fastest possible route for transportation available...

Then, to the Falkirk Wheel...

...which moves boats between canals in under 4 minutes - a process which, using conventional locks, would take several hours...

We spotted this in the distance...

There was some water based mucking about available for the boy...

Then,he finally decided to have a go inside a bubble...

Viel Spass!

Coffee and cake and juice enjoyed...

As a wizard wheeze, the repacked empty juice can was reinstated in the fridge...

A selfie with the smaller horses...

..and some swans and cygnets spotted on the way back to the car...

Home at 4 and the Germans needed some downtime...

Out to The Hampton at 6 to meet up with Jane, Bobby, Olly and Kitty for tea,,,

Kids nowadays eh?

Home around 9 and two more episodes of "Blacklist" enjoyed before Jorg and Ansem hit the sack - Ansem, no doubt, to muck about on his phone till the early hours...

For our own part, we stayed up and enjoyed another excellent episode of "Holby" to round off the day...

Highlight of the day : Out and about...
