Morning Thursday morning…

The end of June...

Half way through the year...

There will be a certain element of freedom for both the Exec Producer and Mr Quartet from today onwards…

We have retired...

Scary biscuits!!

And so, I am finally a musician and artist...

Kind of...

Just as well we have saved up a load of cash on which we can (hopefully) live till we die...

Despite the momentousness of the day, up as usual...

The chilies do not seem to be growing...

Views...

Daily Section No 75 of 432...

Section 417, classical boxes. Jordi Savall to Sibelius...

Just 13 titles but 67 discs...

Choices were said Savall set; a box of Shakespeare related works, the first to arrive at the door during lockdown; and the Emersons’ box of Shostakovich’s string quartets…

I made my way to the office but not for the last time...

A nice lunch with chums Sarah and Janine, funded by David from a large corporation...

Printed off the new tickets home re our upcoming trip to Germany - our flight back was cancelled today and so we need to stay for an extra two days...

This evening, much frantic re-organisation went on, including the cancellation of booked accommodation and the booking of other accommodation...

Meanwhile, out tomorrow on Bandcamp....

The 6th in the Cloudland Blue Quartet "classical" series and 1st for a year...

After “Satie", "Cage", "Beethoven", "Schoenberg Webern Berg" & "Haydn", comes "Wagner"...

Free to stream/name your price to download (with extra mixes)...

There will be a retirement celebration tomorrow...

For now, lights out...

Morning midweek morning. Another overcast day…

Getting there…

Keeping going…

Daily Section No 74 of 432...

Section 306, jazz from Chris Botti to Jack Bruce...

Choices: the latter’s 1970 LP “Things We Like” with Hiseman & McLaughlin, Matthew Bourne’s 2012 piano improv disc “Montauk Variations” and Michael Brecker’s 1996 star-studded “Tales from the Hudson”…

Nice!

Out and about today...

...and some purchases made...

Disco and classical “it’s all Musik to me” as Falco used to say…

Some string quartets I already have but not by the Bartok Quartet...

Some classic disco music of which I have never before heard...

Some more classical...

...including this delightful disc, which, it turns out...

...I already had, albeit with a nicer cover...

This evening, my first foray into walking football...

Very enjoyable indeed and much harder than it sounds...

If you nutmeg someone and then go round them, by the time you arrive, the ball is long gone...

Closed off the day with Marillion's 2022 opus, to which I have probably not listened enough...

...which can probably be said for most of the music I acquire these days...

Onwards...

The elusive stems...

Playlist
Cloudland Blue Quartet - Wagner
Efterklang - Plexiglass EP
The Glitter Band - Best of
Giorgia - Greatest Hits
Glasperlenspiel - Licht und Schatten
Efterklang - Elbphilharmonie 2019

A Tuesday almost six weeks ago - what are the chances I remember what I did?

Well, I got up just before 8...

Ah yes, and I was going to work on some remixes for Edward Spark...

...and on the new CBQ album, out Friday...

Indeed, despite my claim the other day that I got all 4 of the main tracks done, it actually took 3 days to do those...

At this point the titles were different...

Daily Section No 73 of 432 was Section 75...

...from David Gilmour to Golden Earring, including rather a lot of Girls Aloud...

I eschewed all of those though for German pop duo Glasperlenspiel, Italian pop star Giorgio’s best of and a collection from Gary Glitter’s backing band…

Poptastic!

For tea tonight, tasty chili...

...and a visit from a sleepy Fang...

With the Spark work having failed to even get out of the starting blocks this morning, due to crashed downloads, I started again...

It failed again...

Finally, success...

...but no time left to actually do the work - I did some rough mixes on 22 June without the stems but let's see how this goes....

Closed the night out with Efterklang, who we will see at Summerhall in August, at considerably less cost than were we to be seeing them in their native Denmark...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Finally getting Sparky's stems...
