Up pre 6am...

Scenes...

Daily Section number 63 of 432....

Section 60...

Mostly the Eno brothers and Erasure...

I chose Brian’s 2001 collaboration w/J. Peter Schwalm, Roger’s 1992 collaboration w/Dream Academy's Kate St John and an LP by The Entrepreneurs, from 2019, bought in Manchester on nephew Craig's stag weekend in 2020, an LP with which I was completely unfamiliar…

Podcast uploaded and then, pre 9, out for breakfast...

...to the Haven at Newhaven...

Scrambled egg and bacon on toast for the EP while I very much enjoyed porridge with bananas, berries and honey...

Spotted this at the counter as I paid.  Made a donation to procure it for Annie Milannie - Puffinalia...

A walk along to the shore,,,

...and then back to Ocean terminal, where we went our separate ways, me heading onto HMV, Anne into M&S to procure some mushrooms for tonight, followed by a drive home and out again to the secret hairdresser's house, leaving me to wander around...

In HMV, these were partaken of...

...along with a pair of tasty "Roam" Bluetooth buds (which, as discovered later once charged up, provide excellent sound) for just £3.50...

In a couple of charity shops in the centre, I nabbed these (4 from each shop) for an overall total of just £7.50...

Tasty!

The view from the centre...

...and from the No 34 bus journey to the foot of Leith Walk...

...the full length of which was walked up, with many stops in many shops but with only one further purchase being made...

...for just £2 - but it turns out the 59 tracks are exactly the same as those on a 3CD comp purchased back in 2017...

Oh well...

Leith Walk scenes...

...including the view along to where we lived from 1983-1987, Montgomery Street...

...and Calton Hill...

Through the old and now revamped St James Centre - not sure what it's called now but it looks nice...

to St Andrew Square where I boarded an airport bus and noted Anne was just leaving the secret hairdressing house as my bus drove past that very location...

I jumped off and Anne whisked me home in the Cloudland Red Mobile, where today's pile was noted...

...and the ripping and listening commenced...

I checked I did not already have the Northern Soul comp - I did not...

...then recalled these two too...

...which took the total track count up to 614...

I created a playlist of all the comps and checked for duplication to see how many tracks were left...

This is how I waste my time...

Turns out there are 456 different songs across the 614 tracks...

Most appearances:

5: Al Wilson - The Snake
4: The MVPs - Turnin' My Heartbeat Up
4: Gloria Jones - Tainted Love

In addition, 21 songs appear 3 times and 106 appear twice...

This leaves 326 songs which appear only once...

Removing the duplicates would provide a 456 song Northern Soul playlist that'd last around 21 hours - easily enough for an "all-nighter" and then some!

But I wasn't having one...

Instead, very tasty Spaghetti Bolognese...

..."Borgen" and a wee visit from Fang the Black Cat - who spent the evening relaxing with us...

I noted that my "out and about" pics are probably better as arty black and white things...

By close, just after midnight, almost all ripping completed...

Off to bed with Rammstein....

Highlight of the Day : Porridge for breakfast and wandering around...
