October away...

Always good to be up super early on a Sunday?

No?

Oh well...

Last night's wine glass ready to be put away as I fired up the machines...

Working this morning on splitting the 80 minute variation on Brian Eno's "Music For Airports" (which will be released on Friday), into two tracks so that Bandcamp will accept it (because it's more than an hour)....

Had to do the same with the three bonus pieces too - solo choir, solo piano, solo guitarscapes...

So, eight tracks in all...

Cover up first...

...and, an hour or so later, all eight tracks uploaded...

Downloaders will, of course, be able to stick the parts back together again for a gapless listen...

Meanwhile, Luna was exploring...

...and, as is her wont, chewing plastic...

Played the Mahavishnu record again - no wonder the first track junps!

Breakfast at home, followed by some relaxing...

Then, out for the shopping - for us by Anne, for my mum by me...

...and home again to the guest cat...

Hmmm - last week's videos started to work all of a sudden...

There is a debate going on in the band about the merits of this lighting set up...

While we were shopping I was recording the soundtrack of the first video and did the second on our return...

My plan is to blend it with the slightly distorted feed taken from the mixing desk (the red one!)...

However, this is a longer term project than I'd thought as one runs at an ever so slightly different speed from the other - so I need to split all the tracks on each recording first to match them all up with a minimum of mismatching...

Lunch...

..and a couple of "Community"...

Then, creating another DJ mix for the gig on 4 December - as it seems we will be opening the doors 30 minutes earlier than I'd thought...

It features other people's cover versions of tracks from our sets...

To my mum's, where unpictured scones with clotted cream and jam were enjoyed...

Home again to Luna...

She enjoys watching other animals on the TV...

...while I listen to far out jazz fusion from 1971...

Good telly tonight with the return of "Dr Who" - very promising - and a new, also promising, thing, "Showtrial" - which sandwiched a me upstairs doing stuff "Strictly" results show for Annie...

Home made lasagne for tea!

Yum...

Weekend over...

Up to do the podcast, like every Saturday...

..but helped today by Luna...

I included my top 5 LPs of 1980...

More help from Luna...

...later soundtracked by chance by Eno...

Anne was preparing a big breakfast rather than us going out...

Yum...

Meanwhile, Luna was trying to have a second breakfast...

Out around 10, both of us with targets - Anne down to the foot of the hill, me into town to meet up with Dr Prog for a Record Fair...

Despite all these...

...and these...

...I ended up buying 3 LPs, the music on which I already have and one of which I bought on vinyl just 16 days ago...

We left and walked to Tollcross, where some charity shop buys were made...

Lunch and chat...

I opted for granola with coconut yoghurt...

Phil tried to get the waitress into Mussorgsky's "Pictures At An Exhibition" - I think he may have succeeded...

After a good hour in the place, we said our goodbyes and I walked to Greyfriars...

...where all of these were eschewed...

...before making my way down to the Grassmarket...

The beast was walking around looking for CDs he did not need...

None was found - so, on, past the castle, to the car...

...and home to peruse, listen etc...

Another copy of this - today's, however, with a booklet and half the previous price...

It seems the former owner was trying to work something out but failing to remember there are 60 seconds in a minute, not 100...

A record first bought in 1975, 2nd hand and, at the time, reeking of incense...

This one though, has a huge mark on track one, causing multiple jumps...

Nice to have again though...

Of the three, this was probably in the best nick...

However, loadsa surface noise between tracks and a reasonable amount of annoying sibilance...

Later, cleaning out the socket in the iPhone again...

Luna and Anne were relaxing...

The wine received a few weeks ago, for being with The Man from outset, was enjoyed...

...with sea bass fillets...

As Anne watched "Striclty", I ripped the two CD purchases I'd made - I'd been convinced I already had both but, it turned out I had neither...

Then, to work on the stems of the three remixes Edward Spark has chosen to release...

...sending them over to him before close of play...

A reasonable Saturday...
