Up around 6 to get the day started...

Counted up the new acquisitions so far this year...

...and wrote this up for the last couple of days....

...while listening to Hawkwind again...

Then, downstairs for coffee...

...and listening to "The Shelf" on shuffleplay...

It comprises the last 100 physical additions, which I briefly removed to record for posterity...

Back upstairs and continuing with the diary update...

The EP surfaced and heard a strange noise from downstairs...

She went to investigate, expecting to find one of the new smoke detectors had come off of the ceiling...

But, no, it was very much stranger than that...

A spontaneously exploding cafetiere was the source of the sound...

Weird...

In preparation for next week's full rehearsal at the venue, the PA was fired up for the first time since 2018...

It still works but no way can I lift the speakers onto their stands unaided...

After that, some relaxing listening to the first of the 4 CDs in this set - whilst reading the sleeve notes...

Some messaging amongst the band re possible changes to the arrangements and drummer Johnny still trying to get his young lady dancing friend into the band...

We'll see...

Lunch of excellent two day old home made soup and a roll - then, off to my mum's - Anne's first visit for 6 weeks - due to various things getting in the way - my third in three days...

Coffees and biscuits/snowballs and chat...

Then the drive home, along normal roads due to the now predictable traffic jams on the Bypass...

By chance, just beyond Colinton, we spotted Dr Prog plodding along...

We parked and walked to surprise him and had a wee chat before all heading on our respective ways...

On the way back to the car, some good leaves were recorded...

Back home for a couple of "Community" followed by Anne prepping the tea...

Bolognese pasta bake - very tasty...

While the EP enjoyed the results on "Strictly", the evening was mostly spent listening to the music of 1980, as I compiled my initial list of 100 LPs for the next fortnight's consideration to get to my top 5 - which, of course, I already know...

Downstairs with some newly downloaded 1980 items on the cans and today's footie on the telly...

And so the holiday is over - WFH again tomorrow...

Last thing, as we locked the doors, this wee chum was spotted...

That was it...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Bolognese pasta bake and a chance meeting...
