And off goes month, number two of 2016 - already...

Up early on the 29th day...

...on which very little worth reporting took place...

A visit to my mum while Anne zumba'd...

A night time view from her window...

She's certainly taking her medicine...

She enjoyed mucking about with the Brian Eno apps on my phone...

I think she's kind of on the mend but still has some way to go...

Back home, "Fresh Meat" was enjoyed and "Cuckoo" was 'taped'...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Mum on the mend perhaps...

The view from the office this morning...

...and later, as we departed for breakfast...

...frosty...

...bright and cold...

Drove to Roseburn...

...then walked on to Haymarket...

The beast was about its business...

...as was its Executive Producer...

...along by the tram tracks...

...and in to Haymarket...

...and on to Morrison Street and, new to us, Milk...

Nice...

I went for the healthy option...

...although, kind of inevitably, I did need to help Anne out with the very last of her sandwich...

Back to the car...

The Exec Producer...

...was being followed by the beast...

This would be a nice spot to have...

At home, in the garden, I mistook these for Brussel Sprouts..

Spring is perhaps on the way...

Indoors, I set about some switching of stuff about and...

...listening to a couple of LPs...

...and a Mozart Piano Concerto...

A speaker switch around, with the best set now being at my most popular listening spot...

I am not averse to the occasional spin of the old vinyl...

...but CDs certainly sound better due to the distinct lack of clicks and/or jumps and/or surface noise...

A visit from Sheila and Andrew on the way to, in turn, visit mum...

Reports later advised she'd been in bed all day, was eating well but, later still, that she was seen to be wearing a full oxygen mask rather than just the tubes in her nose...

I will pop by tomorrow...

Hoping for a full recovery...

To Anne's mum's for tea, accidentally leaving my camera in the car...

Kitty tried to show me how to download an app...

Stupid Uncle David...

Olly seemed to be using his family's entire data supply by watching football matches on his phone...

Kids need to know consequences...

Back home, the first two episodes of a very welcome returning "Person of Interest" very much entertained...

Then, hey, I downloaded not one but two apps - both Brian Eno related...

One would not load on my phone and so, I retired with its software being updated...

Always a worrying scenario...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day ; A nice walk and a lovely breakfast and moving stuff around...

Up just after seven and writing this up while listening back to next week's podcast...

The EP was up a couple of hours later and, pre breakfast, gave some attention to this, her new machine...

Breakfast at home, I was on duty...

Breakfast was also being enjoyed outside...

Laura Pausini entertained...

...as did today's calendar pic...

...as did (in places) tracks featured in the BBC Radio 6 Music book "Alternative Jukebox" - I have around half the entries...

Some repositioning of the turntable took place...

If you want to know why it is that CD beats vinyl hands down, just listen to the opening of "Turn of the Century", track 2 on this LP...

At 2, took the EP to her mum's re today's Hearts match v Kilmarnock - a scraped 1-0 win with two penalties missed (the goal came from a rebound on the first)...

In Falkirk, Queens were 1-0 up at half time....

Yes, you guessed it, they lost 3-1...

I drove on into town and took a bus down to the Western General, opposite Fettes School...

...these the views from mum's new location...

From the chat of the doc who visited while I was there, she's going to be in for a wee while yet...

Not a well old lady...

In the corridor, some enjoyable abstract art by Wilhelmina Barns-Graham...

Back into town around 4 in the afternoon sun...

In the basement of HMV, two Field Music CDs purchased for £2 each - upstairs, new copies are £6 each...

Justified...

Met Anne and her mum from the football and took Anne's mum home...

To the Indian takeaway as the evening drew in...

They need to learn how to manage expectation - telling walk-ins that it'll take 20 minutes and then having them wait 45 is not good for repeat custom - even if their Lamb Balti is the best in the world...

Three episodes of "Spin", taking us into series 2 were enjoyed, before I retired upstairs for some pre-bed ripping and listening...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Cheering my mum up a bit...
