It is always the intention to update those days with the relevant text but doing so is, of course, subject to opportunity (and, indeed, memory!)...

Awoke to the mighty Uriah Heep...

...and decided to redo their "Choices" box set, removing all the doublers and putting the featured tracks into chronological order...

This is how I waste my time but it was good...

Out with Anne to her mum's for a few errands and then into the office to do more stuff for her...

Then, round to Fopp and made a few purchases and noted a few other things...

This for example...

I've had the 92 track digital version for nearly 3 years and never gotten round to adding the names of the artists on each track...

So I did that this afternoon...

I swithered about this but in the end put it back - yep, turns out I already have it...

Almost bought this...

...and was intrigued by this...

I sampled them all later...

On the way home, stopped off at Rustom to book a table for next Monday for a lunch with fellow ex-colleagues Yuill, Raymond and Bernie...

Heep soundtracked the bus journey home...

...and up the hill...

Anne was off out doing Pilates...

I sat in the back room listening to my purchases...

I am awake here but was to be found, later, asleep...

...in the blazing...

...sun...

Moved through to the computer and started the rip process and brought the book of CDs I own up to date, adding the latest 33...

In the evening, baked potatoes were followed by "Monk" x 3...

And bed...

Highlight of the Day : Listening to CDs...

We're a garage band...

Girls Aloud - Ten (Deluxe)
Girls Aloud - The Sound Of... The Greatest Hits
Girls Aloud - The Girls Aloud Show 2024
Cloudland Blue Quartet - Glam!
Capital Models - 2024-05-18 (DR JB KA PR)
Capital Models - 2024-05-19 (DR JB KA PR)

Sunday - started the day with Girls Aloud, watching vids from the start of their tour last night in Dublin...

I must confess to having been quite moved by their tribute to the late Sarah Harding...

Very sad indeed...

Post putting together a compilation of the setlist (and downloading rather a lot of EPs etc), breakfast and, then, out to pick Paul up at the bottom of the hill at 9:40 and over to Kirkliston...

Today's biscuity/cakey fayre...

Back into the garage, the majority of the gear left in situ overnight...

Well played - again a few mis-steps here and there but considering it was only our second time in this formation, it was pretty good and bodes well for next Saturday...

We took breaks between each of the three sets...

Remaining biscuity/cakey fayre at the start of set 3...

The view inside at close of play...

We decided to move some songs around so that John will play guitar for a whole set with me on bass, rather than us chopping and changing 3 times mid set...

Home and editing and sending out the recordings for people to play along to between now and next week...

Tasty home made lamb burgers from Anne...

...and "Task Master" and some "Monk" entertained...

A busy weekend over...

Highlight of the Day : Rehearsing again...

Up at 6...

...and prepping for today's rehearsal...

Recorded this weekend's podcast and got it uploaded before picking Paul up at the bottom of the hill and out to Keith's in Kirkliston for 1, setting up in his garage...

Coffee and biscuits were enjoyed during the break...

...in this first rehearsal of a new configuration of the group...

Dave: Vox/Gtr/Bass
Johnny B: Bass/Gtr/Vox
Paul: Keys
Keith: Drums

It all went pretty well, despite a few early hiccups and a few botches here and there...

Bodes well for tomorrow's 2nd run through and the gig next Saturday...

Meanwhile, Anne, post enjoying Hearts coming back from 3-1 down to Scotland's newest club at Tynecastle to draw 3-3, the equaliser coming in the 95th minute, was off out to a Ball tonight at the Sheraton, the organisation of which, coincidentally, Mr Edward Spark was involved in...

Anne was with chum Lorraine, aka Dot...

...and, here, the lovely ladies were engaged in conversation by Mr Spark....

Back at Crispycat, I edited and recalibrated the recording of the afternoon and sent out the MP3s to the boys, although it's unlikely that they would listen to them pre tomorrow (which I, however, did)...

A terrible tea of pakoras and cannelloni out the freezer - dodge-ily heated up in the microwave...

It was ok I suppose...

Post 9, I decided to pop over to the Dockers to check out tonight's performance to compare and contrast to what we'll be up to next Saturday night...

Around 70 in the room when I arrived...

The "band" was quite quiet, singing and playing guitar and a drumkit over backing tracks...

...and, like everyone else in the room, they looked considerably older than me - and I'm quite old...

They went down well though, as did the Diet Irn Bru...

Good too to see our poster on the board...

Out and over to the Sheraton for 11:30...

Anne and Lorraine were at the bus stop...

On Lorraine's exit via a No 47 to Penicuik, Anne and I drove home...

Before retiring, the highlights of Hearts' glorious draw were enjoyed...

Lights out...
