Up to  misty outlook...

Wee friends over the way...

...were also up early...

To work on last night's session...

...done and out to the boys pre a mushroom based breakfast...

Checking the weather for Saturday - little chance of rain at the important times...

Finally got round to shaving my face and head...

Some rehearsing on the bass...

Much of the rest of the day was spent working on "The Grid" re player availability for the band over the summer, following our discussions last night...

I am hoping that, post this, everybody understands that the grid's overall caveat is, of course, that...

"ALL CURRENT AVAILABILITY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE RE OTHER ARISING PRIORITIES"

...and that the grid is a moveable feast, dependent upon other commitments which may arise in the future...

On that basis and on the basis of our discussions, we have the following commitments booked...

Sat 4 May: Gig (Full Band) Kirknewton Stables
Sat 18 May: Rehearsal (Quartet: David, John B, Keith, Paul) Kirkliston
Sun 19 May: Rehearsal (Quartet: David, John B, Keith, Paul) Kirkliston
Sat 25 May: Gig (Quartet: David, John B, Keith, Paul) Leith Dockers

In addition to those, I have proposed just 5 Full Band Rehearsal Dates at Roslin between now and the start September and, if John W is agreeable, a re-run of our duo session from October 2022, which failed to record, but at which we played through 33 then new songs, of which 19 remain unplayed by the band i.e. "research and development (R&D)"

Sun 2 June: Rehearsal (Full Band) Roslin
Sun 16 June: R&D (Duo: David, John W) Roslin
Sun 7 July: Rehearsal (Full Band) Roslin
Sun 21 July: Rehearsal (Full Band) Roslin
Sun 18 Aug: Rehearsal (Full Band) Roslin
Sun 1 Sept: Rehearsal (Full Band) Roslin

I'm hoping these can all be agreed now and we can move forward with some degree of certainty...

Beyond these, the grid shows all dates on which, based on CURRENT availability, we could take on gigs or arrange further rehearsals/R&D, if required, utilising the various different configurations of the band i.e.

Full Band
DR/JB/JW/KA/PR

Four Different Quartets
DR/JB/JW/KA

Tasty prawn based early pasta tea as...

...tonight the blind, old, overweight beast was playing footie again, this time outdoors for the first time in 2024...

Home with a  6-1 victory under the belt and name already down for next week...

Having already watched 4 "Monk"s at lunchtime, we took in another 3 tonight post the very sad final episode of ""Professor T", with the unnecessary demise of Donkers...
