Up and still feeling under the weather...

I had a lunch planned today with ex-colleagues Yuill, Bernardo and Raymondo...

Lounged around trying to get going...

This was quite good in the back room...

Still no podcast and, although I had eventually brought all the gear into the dining room yesterday afternoon, before conking out, I did not have the strength to take any of it upstairs...

Around 12:30, out, noting a good back garden...

Anne took me almost to Haymarket (before heading to her num's where she and Jane were prepping everything for tomorrow's much sooner than anyone might have expected but needs must, move to a care home)...

A cheeky wee, not too strong, bottle of red was secured from Tesco...

Then, meeting the boys at 1 at Rustom...

Bernie & Yuill...

Raymond...

We may have ordered too many starters, but everything miraculously disappeared...

...and then, mains...

Yuill also enjoyed an ice cream and there was coffee for him and Raymond...

Despite the BYOB policy, Lagers were also ordered...

We could easily have opted for the £9.99 three course lunch and bought all our drink from the restaurant - instead we managed to spend £50 each, 20% of which was our tip...

Out around 5 to the neighbouring Scots Guards Club - none of us had ever been there - for reasonably priced drinks...

Then, over the road to Ryries for "one more" (which, of course, turned out to be two)...

While crossing the road, we got talking to one of the ladies who had also been in the club and who, it turned out, knew our old colleague Margaret and husband Glenn from her time at Scottish Life, way back...

She also reckoned she could get Capital Models a gig at the club...

And so, she joined us for the Ryries rounds and was very entertaining with her Mystic Meg like personality reading qualities for three men she'd only just met...

I exited around 8:15, catching a 100 along the road...

...and as, very kindly, picked up by Anne at the bottom of the hill...

Unlike the last such lunch back in November, when, on coming home, I could neither walk nor talk and spent the night neighing like a horse (so Anne says), I was compos mentis enough tonight to enjoy the season 6 ending double bill of "Monk" before heading off into the land of nod...

Still not feeling great though and the podcast prep is languishing...

Highlight of the Day : Lunch and drinks...
