A problem with the printer solved...

On the last day of the month, I started to write what might become my first new song since July 2014...

Two episodes of "Deutschland '83" enjoyed pre the drive to my mum's - in fine fettle..

To Anne's mum's for Anne's birthday tea...

As requested, unpictured steak pie was the main dish of the day...

Olly too was in attendance but sitting, as usual, right next to me and so missed out on the capturing of the evening...

A reasonably busy Saturday...

The view from the office this morning...

Out into the snow around ten to pick up Dr Prog for our first meet of the year...

Heading to the Music Library, we passed this, which I may well have pictured before, at the university...

Dr Prog was in fine fettle, while your correspondent probably borrowed too much music - the pile on the table was his...

This realisation was reflected in his demeanour...

Along the road for lunch, passing the inevitable gaggle of Japanese tourists, taking pictures of the wrong cafe re the writing of Harry Potter...

A good falafel based lunch and setting the world of music to rights before the Doc headed off down to Stockbridge to meet his brother and secure some kind of gadget which allows him access to many sports channels for free...

Meanwhile, I walked down Chamber St...

...and back to the car, enjoying Roxy Music rarities on the way home, stopping off for lunch for Anne and a couple of tasty cakes...

This had been delivered...

Tasty...

Spring is on its way - but not soon enough to save both Hearts' and Queens' matches being postponed today...

The big birds were enjoying some peanuts...

Ripping the acquisitions...

I have all the Roxy stuff already of course but these are supposed to be the best ever versions...

In the evening, post prawn pasta, to Jane and Bobby's for some children and dog-sitting...

Kitty showed off her new ballet shoes...

And a game was played, each person having to correctly put three things into order...

Meanwhile, I tried out my new blonde look...

Into the night and, with Kitty off to bed, the rest of us did things we liked...

I watched a Laura Pausini concert and discovered she's coming to London for one date in October...

A possible trip...

A relaxing time as we awaited Jane and Bobby's return...

Olly retired and Rafa settled...

...and Jane and Bobby appeared just after midnight, a good night having been had...

Back home, some more Pausini watching prior to hitting the sack around 1 or so...

Highlight of the Day : The whole day...

A boat is pushed out...

Playlist
Various - "The Shelf" on Shuffleplay
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

A great big "Happy Birthday" to the Exec Producer...

The view from the office this morning...

Refilled my phone - this time with CDs bought in 1985, 86 and 87 - these days I can hardly even get a month's worth of acquisitions to fit on it...

As a consequence of the refill, Pink Floyd and Genesis soundtracked the day....

In the evening, a walk down to the Zoo and the excellent Chinese restaurant opposite, Cool Jade...

A birthday meal ensued...

..with Anne's bestest chum ever, Lynn...

...and partner, Ross the adventurer - he is about to cycle from Land's End to John o' Groats in around 12 days...

I climbed my last Munro a few years ago...

It was also my first Munro...

Climbing Munroes is not an enjoyable past-time for your correspondent...

Unlike...

...eating exotic ice cream based desserts...

...a past-time also enjoyed by Lynn...

I suggested we venture through the wind and rain to the Holiday Inn opposite the restaurant for a nightcap...

Post some Gin & Tonic and Lager, we headed back out into the night and said our farewells...

An excellent evening was rounded off with a walk back up the hill to Crispycat Towers...

Highlight of the Day : Celebrating...
