A long walk this morning along the Union Canal, from Chessor (after posting some orders)...

...to Fountainbridge - my trainers having caused havoc with my left heel...

We stopped for breakfast at Swedish place, Akva - one of the Boda Bar collection..

Excellent porridge and banana for me...

Then, on past West Port and down into the Grassmarket...

...and up Candlemaker Row to Greyfriars...

While Anne went to the Festival Theatre to sort out tickets for Nederland Danstheater 2 in April, I took a look at the music department in Blackwell books, and this became the first physical purchase of 2016...

We walked down Cockburn St towards Princes St to take the bus back to Chesser and pick up the car - but first, a minimalist exhibition at the Fruitmarket Gallery...

To the bus after, all told, around a four mile walk...

Another quick shop once we'd returned to the car and then, home, to find this top notch psychedelic big band release from 1967 behind the door...

Anne had acquired a new hare painting at a gallery next to the Festival Theatre - it was duly hung...

In the evening a very tasty zingy chicken and mango salad was concocted and the first in a new series of "Silent Witness" was enjoyed - along with, of course, some music listening...

And so Xmas/NY is over for another year...

Highlight of the Day : A long walk...
