Nine down...
Good late Summer weather today even although, technically, it's Autumn...

Nothing to report re daytime activities...

This on the way home...

Anne was out this evening with chum Theresa, so I was left to my own devices...

Dinner comprised, shall we say, not the best ever Quorn mince based concoction...

"Big Bang" was enjoyed...

My old bass amp proved just a tad too heavy for one person to put into the loft...

Classical music was enjoyed and a collection of Feta Kuli was downloaded on the recommendation of Brian Eno...

...this music is the basis of his work with Talking Heads and its influence remains even in his latest work with Karl Hyde...

On Anne's return, "Bad Education" entertained and "Scotland 2104" and "Newsnight" were watched for no other reason than they were on....

The Ebola Virus has reached America...

Not good...

Highlight of the Day : Finally discovering Fela Kuti...

Up reasonably early and to recording details of recent acquisitions from (a) the second red book of CDs I own and (b) the actual discs themselves...

...onto the much backed up Excel Spreadsheet of my music collection...

Around 11 or so, out supposedly re bike buying...

What's this arty thing?

It's the newly swept garage floor - which was tidied and stuff put into the car for the dump in preparation for incoming bikes...

...but a then discovered a flat tyre on the Cloudland Blue mobile put us somewhat behind schedule...

Rather a lot of Royal Bank of Alex Salmond Smackeroonies later, we had the car back, having, in the meantime, shopped at Tesco while it was being worked on by the nice young men...

To the dump and stuff dumped, then, to the bike shop and a bike for Anne ordered - my deal fell through however (possibly for the best)...

Back home to discover my bass amp (purchased in 1978 and last used in December at the Kilted Pig), had been left on the back step (by me it has to be admitted) while we were away...

I had obviously become distracted with the tyre problem, having "tidied" the amp from the garage, with the intention of putting it into the attic...

It has only made it to the back room thus far though and it was duly fired up and used to amplify (for the first time) my new black guitar, purchased a few months ago now...

In the evening, Anne was out to see Stephen Fry at the Festival Theatre while I, bikeless, spent some cash instead on some Gerhard Richter artefacts...

...whilst compiling and listening to my favourite classical CD purchases of the last nine months...

Almost four hours this evening listening to some quite excellent classical music...

I am a very lucky person...

In footie, if only Queens had put their 62% / 38% possession advantage to use on Saturday and beaten Cowdenbeath, they would tonight be confirmed as second in the league behind Hearts, following Hibs' valiant 3-1 thrashing of The Rangers at Castle Greyskull...

That's football...

Highlight of the Day : Finally firing up the new guitar and buying some art books...

Coffee and creek...

Playlist
Pedersen - A Sound Year
Rheostatics - Introducing Happiness
Various - Weekly Playlists
Rheostatics - Horseshoe Tavern 11/8/94
Martin Tielli - Operation Infinite Joy

A rare event this morning as I slept late till 9 am...

Met up with fellow Creeker Stu Cobley at 11 - finding that our planned rendezvous venue didn't open till twelve...

Coffee enjoyed instead at Black Medicine Company...

Good chat, which continued down the road at Cafe Nero in Blackwell Books - I would have liked to have browsed their classical music section but a power cut put paid to that...

We did, however, take the opportunity to "portrait" each other...

...before we bade each other farewell - hopefully not as long till the next hook up...

Back home, some late blooms in the garden...

...included a Splinterheart flower...

Some music working out/learning...

Dropped Anne off at her mum's, ready for today's 5-0 thrashing of Livingston - a worry for Queens re next week's match...

Out to my mum's for a visit...

On good form as ever - several pics were vetoed before the above was deemed acceptable to be posted here for her fans....

Back home and some music listening and some financial work before picking up the ladies from Anne's mum's - and some work on Anne's mum's pics from her recent trip to Ireland, a Chinese takeaway and, for the ladies, "Downton Abbey"...

...while, upstairs, more listening for me...

Took Anne's mum home and back to Crispycat Towers in time to see the highlights of the Hearts match...

Lights out...

The day started well, leaving the house at 7:45 for the 45 minute walk to Helen the Podiatrist's at Roseburn...

Good weather...

Toes seen to, back out into the sun at nine...

...and a bus back, stopping off to pick up a croissant for the Exec Producer...

The walk back home...

...for breakfast...

Thereafter, the EP was off out for coffee with chum Lesley, while I listened to and worked on the new CBQ release...

...while also thinking about the design for the last three months of the year's cloudcasts - getting tired of the old TDK C120 design...

Later in the afternoon, a bike was investigated...

..while Queens were defeated 2-1 over the Forth in Cowdenbeath - disappointing but still fourth...

In the evening "Dr Who" was up to the usual standard as the story-arc was progressed - while the first part of "The Driver" was menacing...

Late on, string quartets from Rihm and Gubaidulina entertained...

Highlight of the Day : An early morning walk...

Bright and cold...

Italian lunch with chums Margaret and Christine - and so no tea...

Back home, downloading new iPhone Software was abandoned, as I couldn't get enough space on the phone...

The old software seems fine...

Later, recording this week's playlist...

Finished the day with "The Graham Norton Show" - very entertaining...

Lights out...
