Breakfast at home to the strains of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' ninth Naxos string quartet...

A drive to Glasgow, arriving at 11...

A walk around..

This was supposed to be the interior of a bike shop...

...and this, the interior of a print gallery...

The Exec Producer rightly thinks I am losing my touch...

We were here for a concert by the Hebrides Ensemble, at the Old Fruitmarket, of a duo, trio and quartet by "Max" as he is known to his chums...

Better than Lachenmann, not as good as Mozart was the EP's judgement on the afternoon's music...

For me, it was all splendid - but then I enjoy tuneless contemporary classical music...

The Max was in attendance...

...and looking spritely despite his 80 years...

There was also a guest birthday four hands piano piece, composed and played (with a nice young man alongside her) by Sally Beamish (composer and pupil of the Max)...

After the concert, some walking about, noting the top levels of intelligent argument being put forward in the referendum campaign (and sarcasm button back to off)...

A tasty Indian for tea over at Byres Rd where, thankfully, the presence of blue badged campaigners was to an absolute minimum in comparison with the town centre...

A drive home and some considerable time getting this up to date whilst enjoying two new purchases on the Cologne based Kompakt label...

End of another good weekend...

highlight of the day : Sir PMD...
