Happy New Year!

As usual (or reasonably usual since 1973/4), I opened proceedings with Alice Cooper's "Billion Dollar Babies"...

...on CD though rather than vinyl as, when I went to put the record on, I found my stylus had somehow snapped off...

New one ordered...

Anne was up fairly early too and we enjoyed the piano music of a 2015 discovery, Jeroen Van Veen...

...while we breakfasted...

Executively produced by the Exec Producer...

Yum...

I chose an album a month from last year and started working through...

This was interrupted however with a visit to the cinema to see the new "Star Wars" film...

While I did enjoy it, I was in a bit of  a nit-picking mode and I found the story was just a little too close to that of the first SW film back in 1977 and, somehow, the whole thing seemed a little old-fashioned...

But I suppose that's perhaps what Star Wars afficionados wanted...

Back home, some tidying in the CD room...

...removing all the box sets from the toppermost areas and getting rid of the higgledy piggledyness which their storage there had been causing since the last big re-arrangement of matters...

Burned discs and jazz compilations now reside behind the settee...

...and the box sets have new home...

Home made Chinese stir fry for tea - another superb offering from the talented hands of the EP...

First acquisition of the year was an interesting improvised concert from autumn 2014, featuring Laurie Anderson...

That and some TV, entertained bringing the first day of 2016 to a close...

Highlight of the Day : Scrummy sustenance from the EP - better than Star Wars...
