Another release day...

Small twin debris in the neighbours garden...

There will be some work today on new songs the band will try out tomorrow...

Maybe in the old days it was more fun...

Anyway, Daily Section No 48/432 - the one at the bottom with our faces on it...

Section 368, 11 years of my own music, from 1986-97, Sombre Reptiles, The Heavenly Music Corporation, Cloudland Blue Quartet...

Of these, I chose a disc of short synth pieces from 1989, “The Squirrel Cage” & two of which I can nothing about how they sound, “Taormina” (1994) “A201”(1995)...

I thought this trio was recorded/issued under The Heavenly Music Corporation on cassette.  When I transferred them to CD in the early 2000's, the first 24 discs in this box had the artist name changed to Cloudland Blue Quartet, which will be rectified if these ever get a digital re-release...

However, on checking the cassette boxes, I found that "Twenty Eight Songs from the Squirrel Cage", despite being a soundscape release (Heavenly Music Corporation from 1985-1995), as opposed to song-based (Sombre Reptiles 1980-1995), was issued as being by Sombre Reptiles - and there are only 26 tracks on the CD. Hmm...

Anyway...

Out now on Bandcamp. 25 Years of Creek!

"Creek III (1997-06-16)". Post the remix/retrospective "Fake Leopard Coat" comes the 3rd of 35 monthly archive improv sessions. Creek is me, Craig Sutherland (Edward Spark), Stu Cobley and Alan Brodie...

And...

Out Now! Cloudland Blue Quartet "Flight665" soundtracking 2 journeys from Seattle to Portland, each lasting 24 mins and split into 5 parts. Downloaders receive the 2 unsplit 24 minute "sides" of the LP, as well as "single" versions of each of the 10 parts...

Other things today...

Joe Henderson recorded "Page One" for Blue Note Records on this day in 1963, while trombonist Grachan Moncur III was born on this day in 1937...

Turns out he died on this day in 2022...

Mr Moncur’s work is superb. I urge you all to check it out. The wonderful thing, when a great musician dies, is that we still have their work! We are not their family. We did not know them personally. It’s sad to think the possibility of anything new is gone...

But their work lives!

Breakfast - some master poaching from Anne...

Later, after some "work" some telly, downloading this week' new music and some lunch, we were off out to enjoy the holiday...

Parked at Roseburn - jersey and coat on re it being less than warm...

A walk along the waterside...

St Bernard 0 Ducks 1...

A section which has been closed off for years now is finally open again...

Work has been being done...

We had not seen this in ages...

As we approached Stockbridge, the sun broke through and we were suddenly extremely overdressed...

In the Oxfam shop, someone had just ditched the Stones and Crimso...

This pic caused quite the stir on the Twitter...

However, as those awaited pricing up (and, as I have them all already anyway), this was my pile...

There was a thing on in Inverleith Park but the combination of having to drive once we walked back and the extortionate prices meant we did not partake...

Instead we exited once more and enjoyed these views...

On our way back through Stockbridge, we stopped at "33" for coffee and cake...

...then started the walk back...

...during which the pics were a little more colourful...

After three hours of mainly walking, we were back at the car...

The pile was attended to...

After tea, over to visit my mum...

...in her temporary “facility” till she can get back home...

Positive for Covid on Wednesday so Jubilee cancelled. Oh well, dodgy visitor in apron, gloves and mask kind of made up for it…

Home and this, just outside the garage...

...and this, on our bed...

After having recorded the links for tomorrow's podcast, another Eclectic Selection of recent acquisitions and new releases and, regarding which, I will need to get up early tomorrow to actually pay the records upload it...

....three hours later, Fang was still here...

He goes out the window easily these days though, the wee man...

Highlight of the Day : A good walk...
