Saturday started with this...

Up very late...

Consequently, no time to record the podcast...

Out and along the road for a No 1 bus over to meet with Dr Prog...

I kept him up to date with where I was - given I was running slightly late re our agreed meet up time...

Things took a turn for the worse when my bus was rerouted onto a completely different road, meaning rather a long walk from where I was eventually able to alight...

Eventually though, I arrived...

15 minutes later than an already 15 minutes later than initially agreed upon meet up time...

Breakfast rolls were followed by cake and coffee and good chat, including the Doc's recent conversion to Taylor Swift...

A walk along to Tollcross, where a 2CD Gary Numan Best of enter the Doc's collection then, a bus to the Art College...

...and into the Wee Red Bar for a Record Fair...

I found a stall selling a top selection of CDs for charity at just £1 each, including for multi-disc sets...

Accordingly, erm...

Au revoirs said and off we went on our separate ways...

I noted possible future venues for enjoyment...

...and sorted out my acquisitions - checking later on Amazon/Discogs, it turned out I had secured around £120 worth of music for just over £15...

Result, kind of (i.e. unlikely ever to be sold)...

Anyway, down towards Haymarket...

...and a meet with Chris with a Ch for an afternoon/evening out, firstly at Ryries, then, over to the Scots Guards Club, where I was looking to negotiate possible appearances by Capital Models...

Sounding positive...

At the club, football was enjoyed...

Football and lager...

Then, a taxi back to beyond Tollcross, to the Blackbyrd, where we were joined by old chum Kerry for more drinks...

...before heading to Tuk Tuk at 5...

Yowsah!

We soon polished everything off...

...before taking a taxi back to Haymarket for more drinks...

Our cohorts took a train back to Fife while we got a bus to the top of the hill...

The moon was out as we descended...

We were both feeling very much the worse for wear, and fell asleep during whatever it was we were trying to watch...

However, late evening, a question to Anne...

"When are we back from Germany?  Thinking of going to Spain in September"

Anne advised she'd like to come too and so, before close, flights booked for a trip to Madrid and Toledo re a prog/jazz fusion festival, featuring spoken word contributions from our good chum Sid Smith and from Dr Bill Bruford...

Just time to picture today's haul...

Can't beat a bit of J C Bach...

...or, indeed, C P E...

I had never heard of Avison and took a £1 chance for a 2CD set (no chance in other words).  It is quite superb...

Two discs of Onslow's quintets...

...and a 5CD box of English Concerti across the decades...

Some tasty Purcell...

...and even more...

Electronicky jazz...

OK we're maybe scraping the barrel a bit here...

But there are some tiop tracks on this 2CD set...

Costing slightly more than a quid - I already have the original of this plus a download of a 7 hour box set based around the LP - but this too, was nice to have...

...and this, probably the least desired of all the purchases but still worthwhile at the price...

Before we left I had one last trawl through the £1 stuff and found these...

Nice - Boccherini is usually only ever represented by huis guitar concerti...

...and, finally, you can't beat a bit of J C's dad...

The day closed with us ending up hitting the sack at an almost unprecedented 10:30 pm...

Highlight of the Day : Out and about...

Today's New Music:-
