Books I'll never read...

...but I'll take the odd look through them...

Up late...

Somehting or other sparked the idea to do a CBQ variation LP based on Eno's ambient classic, "On Land"...

By 9 or so, I had my first draft...

It soundtracked a drive into town, giving Anne a lift to her mum's apartment and then, for me, on to House of Hearing to pick up mum's repaired hearing aid...

Met chum Yuille completely by chance - a drink next Thursday is in the offing - it is turning into a busy week...

Olly's graduation on Monday, lunch with Creek and mum to audiologist on Tuesday, drinks on Thursday, night out with ex-colleages on Friday, band rehearsal on Sunday...

Meanwhile, an e-mail from Fopp confirms another set in store, at a date to be decided...

Which is good...

For now though, out to Loanhead...

The oxygen machine was too loud in the fixed hearing aids so was moved to the dining room...

Juice instructions were imparted...

...as were hearing aid instructions...

Met the podiatrist and was still at mum's when the carers arrived...

Old hearing aid stuff tidied away...

A drug delivery too - all sorted...

Finally home mid afternoon for more work on "On Land" - here Eno's notes from 1982, revised in '86...

Initially, this morning, I'd taken a random specifically measured snippet from each track so that, once treated, it would be roughly the same length as the original track...

Then, whilst out and about, listening back, I had the idea to treat the entirety of each track and split each into four parts....

So, I did that...

Then, I just treated each track in its entirety to get 8 long tracks...

While watching the Euro games tonight (including England riding their luck once again for a 1-1 against Denmark and Spain trouncing Italy, erm, 1-0), I bored my own pants off listening back to this last idea, with a view to selecting the "most interesting" part of each piece for the final LP...

Which, it has to be said, I did not...

In other words...

All in all...

I took it too far...

But I will return...

Around 9, Gillian and Olly arrived to take Luna home...

22 days she was with us and never sat on me once, despite all the biscuits I gave her...

Still love the wee monkey though...

She didn't want to go...

But she had to....

Day over...

Reasonable, as I often say...

Highlight of the Day : First mix of On Land
