Beginning of another week and I have things in the diary...
But first, at eight, out to my mum's, to sign for something but it seems I'd already arranged for the packages to be left on the doorstep...
Mum was still sleeping so, a quick chat with the carers and then back home...
Fang visited...
But only for as long as it took to scoff some Dreamies...
Then, moving more compilations into the "new" racks...
This now the scene - with some sorting still to be done...
At 10, out and down the hill...
...passing nephew Andy's van on the way (not really)...
The bus was delayed...
..but I was soon on my way to that Glasgow...
...arriving around twenty to noon...
WhatsApping with Olly re his prep for today's graduation - he advised he was waiting for a haircut...
...just as I walked past this sign...
...on my way to a couple of chazzas and Fopp and on to Missing..
...where an hour or so was spent browsing...
...to no avail...
Was going to take the Subway over to Hillhead/Byre's Rd but Anne and Bob, Jane & Kitty were about to arrive on their bus...
So I took the Clockwork Orange up to Buchanan St...
I had a few minutes before they arrived so popped into Love and found a couple of things - a 3CD set of Break Beats and a Canadian singer songwriter I'd never heard of...
To the bus station, a meet up, a short walk back to Buchanan St and the Subway round to Hillhead and a walk to the University, where we found Olly in his gown...
A couple of invites had been provided to allow people to watch a stream of the ceremony but, given there were three of us who couldn't gain access to the actual event, we passed...
Off we went into the Quad...
Olly already had his degree in an envelope...
...written in Latin (of course)...
People were queuing to gain access to the hall...
...and off went Olly followed by proud parents, Jane & Bob...
...while Anne, Kitty and I enjoyed a bite to eat and a drink at The Left Bank - including one of the best ever bacon rolls...
...followed by a visit to Mixed Up, where a funky 2CD comp joined the collection...
Not as funky as these two though...
Back to the Quad as Olly emerged...
Congratulations from his sister as a proud Aunt looked on...
Photo opportunities were taken advantage of...
The University was founded in 1451, this mace dates from just a few years later...
Olly met up with some of his chums and classmates...
...borrowing one their hats...
...in order to be able to do this...
More photos...
...and there was prosecco to be enjoyed...
The full team...
As the prosecco ran out, it was time to walk round to Ashton Lane, for drinks at Innes & Gunn...
...before our arrival at The Ubiquitous Chip - our first visit here since a meal after Hearts' glorious cup victory against Gretna back in 2006...
Scallops to start with, just the two mind you...
These are not the scallops...
A superb steak for the main...
...with lovely potatoes with a creme fraiche garnish...
Coffees and petit fours...
Wine for the ladies, cider for Kitty, Lager for the gents...
A train back to the bus station...
...and an uneventful trip home...
...although I appeared to have lost my Anniversary Hat from London in October somewhere along the way...
Some ripping and listening...
...pre bedtime...
A good way to spend a Monday...
