Up reasonably late...
...and noted some scenes from unusual angles...
This morning Anne was preparing a treat...
...which turned out very nicely indeed!
Today was the 19th of February and I recalled that, on this very day 42 years ago, me, Anne and our chum Dave McKee attended the Alice Cooper gig on the last night of his Special Forces Tour, at the Glasgow Apollo...
I located a recording on YouTube from the desk, broadcast at the time by Radio Clyde (I have a cassette of it somewhere in the attic) but it was missing three tracks, coincidentally the three included on the "For Britain Only" 12" single I have - so I transferred them to the laptop, filled in the gaps and opened the "album" with the lead track off the single...
...and, hey presto, was able to relive that night in full - our first live encounter (of, now, many) with the Coop...
While doing this I noted too that, listening back to a record I bought in 1982, in those old days (pre CD), when you bought a record, you just accepted surface noise or, occasionally, a slightly off-centre hole in the middle for the record deck spindle...
The advent of CD meant we could hear the music the way it was meant to be heard...
Why would any sane person ever go back to vinyl?
Anyway...
A new coffee pot arrived this afternoon from Bodum and, for the first time in quite a while, we enjoyed the absence of tiny grains...
In the evening, Anne was off to Pilates and I discovered yet another new thing, "Loudermilk", which we enjoyed on her return, along with the remains of last night's lasagna and more good coffee...
Just over 100 on University Challenge tonight - I guess we got more 5s than 10s this week...
Another "Leverage" and episodes 5 and 6 of "Fool Me Once"...
Last thing, noted the release next month of the soundtrack to the new "Eno" documentary, preceeded today by a new track which will be on it...
So, as is my wont, I did a mock up (minus the other two new tracks which will be included but which aren't out yet) and that went to bed with me on the cans...
Highlight of the Day : Anne's breakfast treat...
