Today was a day that has been anticipated by certain parties for rather a while...

However, before that, up early and the podcast finished off and uploaded into the void...

Around 12, over to Loanhead to pick up my mum and get her and her chair into the car...

Just under an hour's drive down the East coast to Cockburnspath and the Dunglass Estate, for the wedding of nephew Ali and his lovely fiance, Julie - they have been together longer than they have not, if you see what I mean...

A piper was on duty...

...and mum was soon in her place...

The view...

...and where the papers would be signed...

Outside and senior was already here, dressed to the nines...

Mother of the bride and one of the two best men, Mr Ross Mohawk Mackay...

...the other best man (nephew Andy) with the 2nd photographer...

These scenes from Ali & Julie's life together so far, entertained...

The cake - minimalist but impressive...

The top table...

Mother and sons at the swing upon which many people throughout the day sat and had their pictures taken - only one person fell off and displayed their nether regions to onlookers though...

The husband to be was doing the rounds...

...while mum waited patiently, with the Exec Producer and sister Sheila...

Documentation had been prepped...

Three important people - the humanist officiator, the photographer and the piper...

...as the wait continued...

Mother and son...

Mother in law and daughter in law...

A bus, containing a goodly number of guests, was delayed, the waiting continued...

At last - only a few minutes late eventually...

Into the church...

...to await the bride...

Ali's nephew, Kerr, was soldiering on, despite having recently broken his wrist...

The boys were getting nervous...

Finally, the girls arrived...

...including Julie's tearful big sister, Suzanne...

Here comes the bride...

...with her dad...

Let the ceremony begin...

...a ceremony that went without a hitch, telling the story of how the couple met and their life together thus far...

Your correspondent delivered Burns' "Red Red Rose" (no pics) and Suzanne read a poem she'd written herself, while fighting back more tears...

Then, the signing of the docs...

...and some sorting of hair and make up...

...and declared husband and wife...

The couple left the church then circled round and in a back door, to come out again to a guard of honour of guests armed with handfuls of confetti...

Time for some drinks and nibbles while official photos were undertaken...

...despite which Julie and Ali still managed to mingle...

The swing continued to attract...

...meanwhile mum was already at her seat perusing the tasty menu...

...while the pics outside continued...

The views inside were good too...

...and a lovely pic of Bum Bum adorned every table, favours having been foregone in order that a charitable donation to Boxer Dogs might be made...

Once the guests were in, the wedding party was piped to the top table...

...followed by bride and groom...

Speeches ensued, with much jocularity and letting out of secrets involved...

Mother of the groom...

Sister of the bride...

Even Sister Pam was here in spirit...

The beast and his Exec Producer were about their business at a wedding...

...the former failing miserably to hold his stomach in for this one...

...but not too bad here...

Meanwhile, the band was setting up...

..and soon we were ready for the cake cutting...

The view of an old lady enjoying her grandson's big day...

And now Ali & Julie found out what it's like to be paparazzied...

The first dance...

...undertaken before a very enthusiastic audience (click to enlarge - as with all the pics)...

The wedding party joined the happy couple on the floor...

There was even some bending over backwards...

Everyone else got in on the act...

...but it was time for an elderly lady to make her exit...

...while the bride was attended to...

Some final chat and posing was undertaken...

The boys in their mother's camera...

As the guests got the party started, the bride and groom were involved in further picture based duties...

And off we went, leaving the revelers to revel on into the early hours...

Mum delivered home around 10 after a long and enjoyable day...

Today's artwork, "First Dance"...
