Up around six, as usual for the weekend and some listening and podcast uploading...

Anne was up reasonably early too...

Out around 10:30, the heatwave continues...

Down to Corstorphine...

...and to Ladbrokes to try and influence this afternoon's World Cup game with my luck...

Breakfast at the Toby Jug, very tasty...

Then, this in one of the many charity shops, for two of your English pounds...

Of course, it turned out I have two of the three featured pieces already, on a CD purchased in London in 2013...

Oh well...

In the afternoon, over to the hospital...

The beast was about its business...

Mum liked a card delivered to our house from chum Moira...

Last night, before it became clear she'd have to come back here, we took the opportunity to do some measure of tidying up in her house and I found her less expensive but much better moulded exactly to her ears pair of hearing aids which, it turns out, she doesn't like for purely vanity reasons...

Erm...

Anyway, with these ones in, she can be in her seat in the living room and can hear every word I say even if I'm in the kitchen at the back door...

With her other ones, I often still have to repeat everything when I'm sitting right next to her...

This pic was agreed to demonstrate their lack of ruining her look, vanity wise...

I encouraged her to take the longest walk she's done since all this started on the day Anne and I flew back from Baden Baden (probably, in reality, a few days before that, even)...

The staff were impressed...

The doc visited her today and advised options to remove the catheter would be looked at asap...

Back home for England v Sweden...

A 2-0 win for England - oh dear, into the semi finals - later, Croatia knocked out the hosts on penalties - the 20th ranked team now all that stand between England and the final - then, either Belgium or France...

Hmmm...

1966 back harking is bad enough, imagine if they win again...

At least I got £7 out of it...

So many great, skillful countries have fallen by the wayside...

But hey, that's football....

If England do lift the trophy, it's a win for uninspiring, not too talented, boring, workmanlike footballers everywhere...

No offence to workmen (or women)..

Meanwhile, a fenzy at the feeding station...

...while "Brooklyn 99" entertained...

Today's artwork, "Previously Heard"...

And so, sixteen days after returning from Baden Baden, I am finally back up to date with this nonsense...

Without which of course, I'd have no idea what I do with my life...

Which is, as you can see, not much...

First rehearsal with keyboardist Paul tomorrow though...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Mum doing ok, kind of...
