Clomping can ruin a good day...

Playlist
Capital Models - 2022-10-04(DR & JW Setlist)
Peter Gabriel - So
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
Laura Pausini - Io Canto

Up comparatively late and annoying problems with the system hindered me from announcing the release of "Gewitter" and "Creek VII", which was frustrating...

Eventually, problems were overcome and all was done...

Final prep for our trip undertaken and completed and we left Crispycat Towers around 9:25...

A sad scenario first thing though as we drove over to Mortonhall Crematorium for the funeral of niece in law Julie's mum, Val - younger than both me and the EP...

On the mourners' exit though, spirits having been lifted by the celebration of Val's life, a nice rainbow in the sky...

A convoluted route was chosen for our drive to Durham and we made our first stop at Otterburn for a tasty lunch...

...and some Exec Producer shopping...

Good views from the car park...

Onwards and, with the entire route comprising "small" roads, even though it took around 3 hours, it was more interesting than straight down the A1...

We arrived and checked in around 3...

...and, after a swift unpack, out...

More good views from a car park...

A lovely walk down into the valley and over the bridge to the old town...

...and a wander around...

The Market Square...

...and over more bridges...

...with further good views noted...

As a message came in from brother-in-law Keith extolling Durham and a very small gin bar, we happened to walk past said small gin bar...

We went in and we partook...

My choice was orangey...

Anne's was Durhamy...

Out for further walking around...

We ended up at The Holy Grale, where pineapple Weissbier and Pinot Grigot were enjoyed...

...before we crossed the bridge once again and climbed Silver Street to Italian restaurant Uno Momento...

...where more drinks...

...and tasty pasta and pizza were very much enjoyed...

The walk home served as our constitutional...

Two attempts were made at picturing the moon and, presumably, Jupiter, above the cathedral...

Home in time to catch both "Ghosts and "Have I Got News For You"...

I retired around 10 with my earbuds in but noted clomping from the room above - which, unbelievably was still going on at 1 am - by which time I'd had enough and went to confront the noisy upstairs neighbour, only to find him coming down the stairs as he was going out!

Despite looking suitably contrite and even apologising, he returned around 4:30 wakening me again with further clomping...

I will be most annoyed if clomping occurs tomorrow night...

Highlight of the Day : Being on holiday...
