Good views this morning...
...before another good breakfast...
...followed by one last look around...
...and off, driving North, to Lincoln...
We arrived early yet again but the nice people at the hotel allowed us to use the car park...
And so we took a walk around the city while our room was made ready...
We were just around the corner from both the castle...
...and the very impressive indeed cathedral...
We made our way down the aptly named "Steep Hill" towards the centre of town...
...which was, in places, quite picturesque...
The railway line runs right through the town centre...
We lunched down there before climbing the hill back towards the castle and cathedral...
...and our room was ready...
Room 101...
After settling in and a bit of a rest, back out to explore the old town where we were, on top of the hill...
We went into the castle grounds but will "do the walls" tomorrow...
The sights included "Lucy the Dragon"...
Over to the cathedral...
...and its surrounding buildings...
... and in...
Probably less to see inside than Durham but good nonetheless...
Then, in search of the Bishop's Palace...
...taking in the cathedral again as we searched...
Found it...
It was undergoing work and could not be accessed - but it afforded further good views of the cathedral...
Back and further exploration of the old town...
...before enjoying drinks round the corner from the hotel...
...and, later, drinks in the hotel...
...before heading over the road to Cafe Zoot for a tasty tea...
...followed by a constitutional...
...which involved a small cat...
Back to the hotel for some telly, some very slow picture uploading, and, eventually, bed...
Highlight of the Day : Getting to know Lincoln...
