A sad morning spent at the funeral of Meg the Black cat’s ex mum Julia’s dad…
As is usually the case with funerals though, the sadness was to some extent tempered by the celebration of a life well spent – with a fine tribute from the family and a particularly moving poem read by Julia’s sister Margaret…
Some joy (tempered by trepidation) later in the day as an invite came through to be the featured act this Sunday at The Listening Room…
So that’ll be two gigs in one day, the first a “full band” affair at Aberdour (with backing tracks as a crutch) the second an acoustic set in the evening (with no crutch*)…
And so the rest of the day was spent practising various songs, compiling the Souvenir XV CD for sale on Sunday...
... and, erm, surfing e-bay for more CD “bargains”…
Of course there was the now familiar Thursday night 90 minute comedy session of “Hyperdrive”, “Still Game” and “My Name is Earl”…
*My old musicking cohort James Jamieson called this evening while on his way to OOTB – he may pop up in a supporting role for a goodly number of songs on Sunday night…
