Slept in on this Monday morning - Monday again...

In the afternoon, a half day off from WFH as we had to go to my mum's house to meet with the superviser of the carers to go over a few things pre her return next Tuesday...

We took the opportunity to visit a few shops...

A couple of things were partaken of...

As we drove home, a call from sister Sheila - mum is actually getting home on Thursday - exactly 14 weeks since being admitted to the Royal Infirmary - and five infections later...

Some reading at home as to how the advent of being able to record music, changed music...

...and why the invention of CDs was such a good thing for recorded music...

Reading while listening...

Baked potatoes for tea, followed by the return of "University Challenge" - we were on fire, scoring over 150...

Soon the sunlight on the spines of my CDs will be a thing of the past - but too late for hundreds if not thousands of them...

Today's record of the day was "Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits"...

...the last LP from the original band...

Worth owning, even if you already had their previous seven LPs...

...as Jack Richardson took the opportunity to remix the 12 songs...

While I listened, I roasted in my new fleece type thing...

Another 90 minutes of the evening was spent watching the second of the Beethoven documentaries and then Michael Portillo in the Black Forest - Freiburg and Heidelberg are calling us...

Accordingly, I did not get a chance to play today's classical selection but will do so tomorrow...

It will be Hélène Grimaud with the Philharmonia Orchestra, conduced by Vladimir Askenazy, playing Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 2 in C minor, Op 18 - otherwise known as "All By Myself" by Eric Carmen...

Also today, I downloaded a further five albums previously only owned on vinyl - bringing the number missing down to just 22 of 314...

Getting there...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Shopping...
