A small listening list today, as work was being done on a new CBQ release - and a big box set arrived...

Slept in rather badly...

The weather looked promising...

Breakfast...

...then, a drive to Ikea...

..where yesterday's box of shelving without fixings was replaced - picture frames proved impossible to source and possible stage outfits were spotted......

...and a further two sets of shelves were partaken of, along with some more dinky coffee cups and an iPhone stand thing...

Back home, the shelf building resumed...

A delivery arrived for Anne for the garden...

A break for lunch, involving mushrooms for me...

Tasty...

With the end of "Father Brown", we have recently been enjoying the last series of "Taskmaster" on our lunch breaks...

Another delivery - this 10CD box was ordered yesterday after seeing it pictured on the Twitter and some research having been undertaken...

Just £31.99 for the box of wonder...

That's the equivalent of just £1.35 in late 50's/early 60's money, for what were 11 LPs back when they were originally released...

It’s good to be alive in 2020 (despite everything)...

First couple into the player as I worked again on the shelves...

The scene with six down and one to go...

Done...

More tuneless late 50's early 60's classical music entertained...

Then, inspired yet again by the Twitter, due to a chum tweeting blocks of concrete - I was reminded of my album "Betonmusik" from 1999...

Hard to believe it's 21 years since I recorded these pieces....

The first was for my mum and (then still alive) dad ("what's this rubbish son?") for their anniversary...

The second is, actually a piece of Betonmusik...

And the third was based on a 2 minute segment of a Beethoven string quartet - a piece I've always enjoyed (the Beethoven I mean)...

It's a long time since I've listened to it...

It was surprisingly good...

Anyway, this was followed by a couple of visits...

Fang...

...and neighbour Gail, who had inadvertently thrown a bag of dog shit onto our garage roof...

Oh how we laughed...

No, we actually did...

Then, while we chatted out in the garden post retrieval and disposal of the suspicious bag, I captured some bees for posterity...

..and, as we bade farewell to Gail, the squirrel arrived...

For our own tea, not nuts but tasty Spag Bog - I can't get enough of that....

Late on, the random record of the day was "The Roches's 2nd LP...

...from 1982 and produced by Robert Fripp...

Also appearing on the LP are Tony Levin & Bill Bruford, so 3/4 of the then King Crimson...

Worth owning just for “Losing True”, which includes a quite beautiful Fripp solo...

And, finally, today's classical piece was Copland's "Appalachian Spring"...

One last look around the new room...

A productive day...

Highlight of the Day : Finishing the room...
