Up at 6:30 - it was Friday - i.e. #NewMusicFriday and #CDFriday...
But, for the first time in a long time, I actually did my "first thing chores" before going on the hunt for newly released stuff...
I was soundtracked by yesterday's session - post fixing a couple of breakdowns I accidentally left in in the versions I edited last night...
On BlueSky - a thing where you add your own text to an add for the coming of "Dune: Part III" - I have not seen parts I & II...
"I'd buy that" came the responses...
And so, pondering...
...under treated skies...
To the CD Boxes...
No 67 Julian Bream - Peter Cowdry
A 2 on 1 CD, featuring 1997 remasters of 1958-60 recordings by jazz guitarist Charlie Byrd...
It served as an intro to overlooked musical genres for jazz afficionados, preceding Byrd's introduction of Bossa Nova to American audiences a couple of years later...
Very nice indeed - I prefer the second of the two LPs included, which are "An Anthology of Music for the Guitar - The Sixteenth Century" and "Lodovico Roncalli Suites"...
Full original liner notes for each included in the CD booklet...
Breakfast at 8 or so...
Then, with Anne off to Zumba ta 9, to pulling in the new stuff...
21 items all in all - which would now soundtrack my out and aboutness...
The heel is kind of back to normal - in the house anyway...
However, as soon as I put any footwear on, it's not quite normal yet....
But, I am mobile again, after a fashion, thank heavens...
And so, at 11, out...
...and down the hill...
...to meet up with Anne, Lynn and Sheila for coffee and chat...
A ladybird had alighted my hat as I'd descended - it was put in a safe place...
Post coffees, as Anne headed home re the window man - broken handles and mechanisms to be addressed - I headed into town...
Who's that in the distance?
The beast was on the bus...
All new things in my cans were proving to have been good choices...
Visited the "reasonably new" Avalanche at what was once the Waverly Market...
Six CDs purchased for £10...
Then, to the tram...
...and down that Leith - nothing found...
A tram back to Haymarket...
...followed by a 70 minute long due to roadworks trip home...
The haul...
...in full...
The Most Serene Republic - their debut...
Sun Airway - their debut...
Do Make Say Think - their debut...
Morrissey - already had as a download but...
HTRK - their debut...
Again, a download already in the collection...
and Baaba Maal...
As with the stuff nabbed this morning, all good...
Managed to sample all the new stuff throughout the day...
Worked on a potential lyric based on a piece on Substack by Johnny Impossible - "Fictitious Idiots"...
Didn't change much - it's long, very long but I'm liking it...
So, today, everything I took, turned out to be good...
Sirloins for tea...
Yum...
...and an evening of (a) TV - football and "Chicago PD" and (b) listening to the new arrivals...
Bed at midnight...
Highlight of the Day: New music...

"it's long, very long". 4.57 or sometrhing?
That was the initial version of the lyric, which was cut considerably for the “final” version…
