The foot and the filing...

Playlist

A day where the foot got worse, then got better...

Filing awaited...

Computer work first though...

You know that thing where your home looks like an untidy record shop?

Anyway, made a reasonable start on the filing...

Then, out and into town for a meet with chum Christine at my erstwhile office, to sort out a few pension matters...

Then to the Council offices to hand in painstakingly compiled documentation re Anne's mum and her care home scenario...

The foot pain was causing delays - firstly re the comparatively short walk from the car to the bus stop, then from the bus stop to the office, then from another bus to the council building...

There was a reward for all our hard work though - at "Rocksalt"...

Very tasty...

Then, home - including passing our first Record Shop at the top of St Mary's St, now Procaffeination - which it's been for a good long while - nice that someone's made a successful go of things...

Our second shop is also now a small cafe...

Hmmm...

Anyway, two buses home and a slow walk down from the terminus...

Upon arrival, finally succeeded in doing some required pension work online which the site had been thwarting me on for the last few days...

Result...

Today's CD Box, No 60...

From Verdi to Vivaldi...

I chose the relatively unknown Viotti...

His complete String Quartets over 4CDs..

I bought this a few years ago in order to get over the threshold for the free delivery of a pair of earbuds, if I recall correctly...

It is, of course, "Delightful"...

Back to the filing...

First row in place...

Interrupted by coffee, a doughnut and two of "Ellis"...

Back to it...

By tea time, I had managed the top shelf...

Four storeys high, 80 boxes - 67 of rock/pop/funk/soul/reggae/etc, from A to the start of G; 5 of home made compilations; and 8 of my own music…

Boxes on shelves 2-5 (to the ground) still to be subjected to re-integration/re-filing…

Onwards!!

I was soundtracked by a few full CDs...

The test pressing of the 2LP version of “Genesis Live”....

I recalled how brilliant Genesis' then canon sounded at the time. There had been nothing like it. Sadly, many excellent musicians over the intervening 50 years have spent too much time trying to emulate their style instead of progressing it...

Chum Dancing Monk commented it's easier to have your collection on a server...

I pointed out that all my CDs are are on hard drives and easily accessible via my laptop and the NAD 3120 Amp and Mission 761 speakers attached to it. But I do enjoy “mucking about” with my CD collection...

Later on, another 40 boxes done - mid G to mid L.  Around 100 still to go till that wall’s done…

120 boxes done, all told, so far.  That’s probably enough filing for today…

Other soundtracking provided by these...

A few "Chicago PD"s and then, time for bed...

A good day...

Highlight of the Day: Filing and sorting things out...

Today's New Music (from my dad's collection, inherited on my mum's death 18 months ago):
