Charts and teeth...

Playlist

Up late again but the lurgi slowly heading off (hopefully)...

The leg is getting there too...

Scenes...

I did not venture across the threshold today, other than to supply wee Fang with some Dreamies...

Anne was out at Zumba till post noon...

Re the latest BlueSky poll for the best debut LPs of the period 2015 - 2019, I did some digging and, for me, it's going to be these 5...

CB3/Charlotte's Burnin' Trio
Orion Tango/Orion Tango
Physics House Band/Mercury Fountain
A Formal Horse/Here Comes a Man From the Council With a Flamethrower
Graham Costello's Strata/Obelisk

 Order still to be decided...

Very nice, unpictured, pate on toast for lunch, with an "Impossible!"...

Then, Anne was off to visit her mum...

Today's CD Box

No 72 Glenn Gould - Harmonie Ensemble...

A two CD set of 27 specially commissioned encores for the violinist Hilary Hahn...

Some of the best contemporary composers were onboard...

Released 2013 on DG, she toured, premiering these and, later, recorded them for this set...

A couple of days late, got round to updating my charts...

Here the Top 20 for week 12, Soft Machine, the first number one of the year to retain its position for a 2nd week...

New entries from JUZZ, Red Sun Atacama, Joep Beving, The Dear Hunter and Adam O'Farrill - three of those five new to me in 2026...

And here, the 30 "best" of 2026 so far - ordered by (a) highest position, (b) average position and (c) weeks on the chart...

Meanwhile, grand-nephew Harris lost his first tooth - and, indeed, lost his first tooth...

...in the school playground...

...and so, a letter to the tooth fairy was required...

Apparently my teeth will attract no further rewards, should they fall out...

Discussions on BlueSky and a couple of YouTube vids led me to seek out a missing Led Zep LP and to listen to their last real one - not as bad as I'd always thought, and which led me to Beth Hart's tribute - the Doors' last, however, was as bad as I'd always thought...

Some new things arrived too from Prog Rock Willie - Rush, Focus and new to me, Care and Mythra...

Anne returned - I remained at the machines...

It was the middle of the week...

A bottle of white was finished off by Anne while I opened a Spanish semi sweet white - and horsed around 2/3rds of it...

...while hogging the radiator...

...and listening to The Alice Cooper Group...

Also today, pleased to find that "White Punks on Dope" is the fave song of a BlueSky chum...

Anne had been diligently prepping her chili...

...and, lo, it was very good indeed...

The evening was spent binge watching "Amandaland", with a couple of "Chicago PD" thrown in for good measure...

To bed with Soft Machine's number one LP (in my world, anyway)...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day: Anne's chili...

I've never listened to any of LZ's Coda - now you've given it a brief and slightly lukewarm review I'll not bother with it. Thanks, that's some time saved. :-)

It was “In Through the Out Door” - I don’t view “Coda” as a bona fide studio LP - it’s a cobbled together collection of out-takes and a couple of live things to fulfil a contract..
