Drink like it's 2009...

Playlist

And April is away already...

Started the last day of the month with scrambled eggs...

...and listening to old songs re a possible recalibration of the upcoming 30th anniversary of CBQ celebratory release due in early June...

...maybe...

CD Box No 121, from Bill Frisell to Robert Glasper...

Chose this double live set by Mr Frisell...

...containing as it does...

..probably my favourite ever rendition of "A Hard Rains A-Gonna Fall"...

Midday - out into the sun...

...and down the hill for a bus into town and to Haymarket and along to Mia's Kitchen for an early lunch...

This...

...the beer I used to enjoy on our trip to Cagliari on Sardinia seventeen years ago for my 50th birthday...

Viz...

...and...

...and...

...and...

...ah 2009...

Anyway...

Today's beer...

Mussels for me...

Bruschetta for Anne...

Pizza for me...

Sea Bass for Anne...

Them a walk along to Tynecastle...

...where Anne renewed her season ticket - £200 off for being old...

Sometimes it's good to be old - but not often...

A further walk, a mooch in a couple of chazzas, and a look a round an Asian supermarket...

Then a cappuccino and a white hot chocolate with half of a very tasty cookie each...

...followed by a bus to reasonably close to home...

...and a walk back to the house, where today's 50p acquisition was enjoyed...

A discussion about Steely Dan...

Easy listening, worst type of "jazz", zero power yacht rock...

Played tracks from them and some CDs now being filed...

...and brought the 2nd red book of CDs I own, up to date...

At 6:30, shut down...

...and a drive down to South Queensferry to Impossible Songs for an evening of top chat, top tastiness and top wine with John and Ali - first time we've seen Ali since her recent op - finally things seem to be on the up and up and getting back to normal...

A fantastic, sadly unpictured, cheese based buffet was the order of the evening, followed by Portuguese tarts...

At 11, with your correspondent only slightly the worse for wear due to the wine intake (a bottle each for me and John perhaps), it was time to head home...

The view from outside the Impossible office this evening...

...as John and Ali bade us farewell...

Driving home undertaken by Anne...

...the moon was out...

And, so, to bed...

A good day...

Tomorrow, May...

Highlight of the Day: A visit to Impossible Songs....
