Loads of stuff was played I'd never heard before...
A top night...
...and good too to bump into old chum Roger Spence, not seen for far too long - one time jazz promoter of gigs by Mr E and, indeed, his then band, The Bad Plus...
Jazz - where you just turn up to a venue that already has a piano in place, and play for two hours with a bass player and drummer with whom you've had zero time to rehearse but, to whom, you've provided a few ideas re the proposed setlist...
And it sounds like you've played together for years....
If only being in a rock band was as simple...
