Playlist
Massive playlist today as I played at least one track from all the new releases which came in first thing and, later, from all the CDs I bought...
Up super early...
...and a listen back to "Dissolution VI", due out at this morning, revealed some errors in the track splits - so, I had to do them all again and reupload the album and bonus tracks before releasing it at 8...
Annoying...
Friday again - probably my favourite day of the week...
Another CD Box, No 87, from "The Compilation" - English String Miniatures...
Today, piano music of the Darmstadt School...
...performed by Steffen Schleiermacher...
..and featuring works by Messiaen, Stockhausen, Boulez, Clementi and Evangelisti...
Yet another "difficult listening hour"...
Out just after 9...
Anne was heading uptown to meet up with Lynn, for shopping, lunch and drinks...
I was off down the hill...
...for a bus to that Glasgow...
I jumped on the first one that came, 5 minutes before the scheduled main 900 service...
I was keeping tabs on the shuffleplay soundtrack...
I rued my decision re the bus when it broke down in Livingston - adding 50% on to the journey time by the time I managed to get on the next one...
The music was good though, if perhaps slightly too much Genesis and Flying Colors...
We were soon back underway...
As we approached Glasgow, it was pouring with rain...
An hour and a half to get here and almost 2 hours since I left the house...
Anyway, a walk down and past the scene of the recent fire...
...demolition under way...
Into Missing around 11:15...
...continuing to be soundtracked...
A few choices from the jazz section...
...three for £2 plus one at 50p...
£10.50 for 16 - including a last second replacement for this, which the guy behind the counter couldn't find due to misfiling (I nabbed a download later - would've been nice to have had - due to an, albeit flimsy, Allan Holdsworth connection)...
Out into the rain at 12:30...
...and a short walk to Bombay Blues...
...for lunch...
I should probably have had more curry and less of the starter menu but tasty nonetheless and nothing further required until breakfast tomorrow...
Eschewing further record shop visits, other than a cursory glance in Love, back to the bus station and onto the 2pm bus home...
...still being soundtracked...
...and finally moving on to this morning's new stuff...
The beast was on the bus...
A 26 up the hill to the terminus...
..and back where I started six and a half hours later...
Anne was still in the pub...
Ripping and listening commenced...
The haul...
...in full - including 9/16 of whom I had no previous knowledge...
The remainder of the day was spent sampling the new stuff and, on Anne's return, watching TV - including 3 episodes of Season 3 of "The Night Agent", which has, once again, become excellent it has developed...
A live "Beyond Paradise" also entertained...
Late on, back at the machines, ensuring all the new stuff was on the mobile listening unit...
Bed at midnight...
