Up early and writing this for yesterday then out to the gym for 9am as I returned for the first time since early June...
Worked out for 90 minutes soundtracked by Secret Machines then back home, feeling kind of invigorated and a bit smug – but also very sore...
Dr Prog arrived around 1:30 and, after he perused the latest additons to the Living room CD Shelf...
....we were off to Glasgow for a wee trip round the record shops (again)...
...then, after a quick stroll round Sloan Market, to Bar Ten...
....where we enjoyed some tasty fayre...
Then, finally, to see the Mighty Spock’s Beard – California’s best prog rock outfit – live at the Arches under Central Station...
A brilliant 45 minute set from support act Frost, was followed by two hours of absolute spot on musicianship from this top quintet of affable Yanks (ok, the keyboard player’s actually Japanese but let’s not split hairs here)...
Dr Prog cornered them all at the post-gig signing session...
...before we headed home shortly before midnight...
The good doctor had forgotten he’d driven to Crispycat Towers and had been imbibing and was a little the worse for wear (not that I noticed I might add) so I took him home and he intended to return tomorrow to pick up the Progmobile...
A good day...
