Enjoyed the uplifting pop sounds of the magnificent Girls Aloud today...

I’d like to know who sings what – there must be a website somewhere which tells me...

For a bit of a change (kind of), I made my way up to Avalanche on Cockburn St at lunchtime and found they’d reduced the 3CD set of Young Marble Giants (comprising almost everything they ever did) to just £7.99...

In the bag...

Drove home with Meg the Black cat’s ex-mum Julia to a lovely dinner for the cat loving trio prepared by Anne...

Anti-pasti with olives and bread followed by sea bass fillets on a bed of onions, chorizo and cherry tomatoes with asparagus on the side along with some crunchy roast potatoes (tatties not pictured)...

Strawberries and raspberries were prepared as a sweet but we were all pretty much full after the main course...

We retired to the living room and chewed the proverbial fat regarding this, that and the next thing, including Jacques Brel and us not knowing how he died (at the age of 49 in 1978 - my current age - from lung cancer) all those reality TV shows I don’t watch like “Ten Years Younger” and “Trinny and Susannah” and “Gok Wan” and “Masterchef” and tales of life in harness to The Man...

Soon, it was all over as Julia had to dash back to Armadale and drop off her car to take a cab to a karaoke bar in Bathgate...

Don’t ask...

Anne settled down to the never-ending "Celebrity Masterchef" and taped "Coronation St" whilst I enjoyed some giants of the young and marble variety...

Had I not been feeling a wee bit the worse for wear already, I might well have wandered uptown trying to find Uhersky Brod’s Scott Renton and his leaving do as he heads off abroad with his lovely lady for a few months...

All the best Scott – aarrrr....

Highlight of the Day : Giants and fish...
