John Coltrane – The Classic Quartet (8CD Box Set)
A day spent mainly sleeping as the recuperation continues – more slowly than I’d like...
In the evening, I’d woken up enough to join Anne watching Celtic v Hearts whilst I listened to John Coltrane on the old Nut Phones – the live set led me to the 8 disc box of every studio recording of this classic quartet (from 1961 – 1965) featuring Mr Coltrane on saxes alongside McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison on bass and Elvin Jones on drums...
It’s an evening like this that bears the rewards for having such a vast library of music to hand...
Very tasty indeed...
And made all the better by Hearts beating Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead – who’d have thought it, especially when Hearts were uniformly believed to be fielding a “shambles” team while Celtic played their strongest side available...
Wonders never cease...
Ended the day with the hour long “Coronation St” special re Sarah-Louise Platt’s wedding – spoiled by her psycho half-brother’s fake suicide – something very nasty needs to happen to that boy soon...
Highlight of the Day : Celtic 0 Hearts 2...
