Then, back to the filing, soundtracked by this beauty, purchased back in May 2021, for £3, attracted by the presence of Steve Swallow and Kenny Wheeler...
My task today was to staple plastic wallets to the fronts of the boxes and insert the booklet from each of the the 1st CDs in each box (because the post-it notes I applied yesterday kept falling off)...
The filing itself will, again, be for another day...
32 boxes done...
Some wag on BlueSky commented "800 CDs to file? That will be your weekend's purchases then..."
To which I responded...
"LOL - it would actually take me back to October 2025... Which is still, frankly, ridiculous (especially according to the Exec Producer - "what old shite's this you're bringing into the house now, you idiot?")...."
Well, that would be all this old shite...
With the "filing" work done, I returned to diary writing and finally got back up to date again...
This afternoon, post lunch and more "Scandal", a few more CDs were enjoyed in the back room - this, taken from one of the boxes of jazz filing, was bought on our anniversary in 2024...
Today was probably the first time I'd listened to it since around that time...
Then, prompted by exchanges with BlueSky chums Ann Salo and Stephen Pieper re the delights of Koblenz and trying to find the entry on here for me and Anne's day there, this CD...
...bought on a day in 2017, on which we drove through Koblenz, in a Marburg bookshop, Arcularius...
...which closed in 2020 but is now a restaurant which retains the name...
It was famous for its VW delivery vans...
The diary entry from 2022 in Koblenz, included this picture of a section of the Berlin Wall, three of which stand there as a monument...
...a picture from which the cover of my 2022 LP "Disquietmusik VI" was created...
Downstairs and tonight's prawn, nduja, broccoli and asparagus pasta was being prepped...
Anne also enjoyed a tin of Jubel peach beer, bringing back Manchester memories...
"Exploding Kittens" continued to entertain...
...followed by even more "Scandal" - we are still only in Season 2...
Much Schadenfreude too at Glasgow Celtic, who took a 3-0 lead to Linz and then went 1-0 up in the second leg - only to be beaten 5-1 and go out 5-4 on aggregate...
Now, that's what I call blowing it...
Closed matters off with the first episode from the first series of "The IT Crowd"...
A good end to the day...
...a day on which not much happened, really...
