Breakfast in a wee bakery in the main square...
The mist soon lifted...
Many castles and churches were passed and the river itself was criss-crossed innumerable times...
Cochem is a lovely wee town but we had no time to stop...
Onwards...
We negotiated our way through the centre of Koblenz, over the Rhine and along its banks, followed by some Autobahn driving, which is pretty hairy and stressful, especially in a Fiat Cinquecento, before we finally halted in Marburg for lunch...
Mmmm, Auflauf - despite Anne having ordered a tuna baguette...
Our directions had been put together rather quickly last Sunday at Crispycat Towers and were a little bit sketchy...
Nonetheless...
...after a bit of a detour along a farmer's track...
...and the following of tractors through the back roads of Hessen...
We were introduced to his new partner Manuella and off we went for some provision shopping, followed by some cooking and an excellent dinner, in the company of our Godson Ansem...
