Buy a lovely birthday breakfast for Mary - 85 today...

Some of our party decided to walk up a hill in the rain - that held zero interest for me, Anne or Kitty - so we played cards and relaxed in the now quiet house

Soon enough though, the walkers returned, soaked to the skin...

The EP got a haircut from Arianne...

A lazy early afternoon...

...before heading out for a late afternoon birthday lunch in nearby Leadhills...

Olly and I partook of a lovely confection post the mains...

Here, the pea, which Kitty inadvertently dropped onto Olly's tasty sweet cake...

Outside, the weather continued to be rotten...

Mary made the first speech of her life, apparently...

Out into the rain and a farewell to half the party, with Jane, Bob, Olly, Kitty, Rebecca, Murray, Abbie and Blair all heading home...

The remaining seven enjoyed an evening of drinking, carousing and very entertaining card games...

Arianne, despite initially being too tired to play...

...ended the night as champion...

Anne also had a great run in one rubber, winning five of the seven games...

In the end, Craig and Arianne stayed up listening to old Beatles albums...

...while the rest of us hit the sack...
