Playlist
A makeshift playlist pic...
Up and packed my usual collection of machines and wires...
Today, we were "on the road", the soundtrack for the journey being selections from my personal No 1 hits of the 1970's...
Between Edinburgh and our destination, Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales, a total of 57 of those were aired...
Away at 9:07, with an expected arrival time of 13:09, were we to have made no stops....
But stops were made, firstly, at Biggar, for breakfast at the Aroma Coffee House...
...which added an enjoyable and tasty 40 minutes to the trip...
Then, onwards down the M74 and the M6 and past Carlisle and off to the East, stopping at Settle for lunch, given we could not check in till 3...
Parked...
...and a walk around, remembering the town from our visit here in 2017...
...and, like creatures of habit, we returned to The Golden Lion for lunch...
When you're in Settle, you must have a Settle Pudding (well, I must, anyway)...
A big chicken salad sandwich for Anne...
Yowsah!
A further walkabout...
...and back to the car - arrival time now estimated at 3:20pm...
...which was exactly when we did arrive...
...at the beautiful wee Sunny Mount Cottage...
Out, the rain really not that bad...
And refamiliarising ourselves with the village - which is used in the filming of the TV series "All Creatures Great and Small", for our sins, a favourite...
The house with the white doorway is the Vets' Practice (exterior and doctored frontage anyway)...
...while The Devonshire doubles as the Drovers Arms...
Anyway, walkabout...
...and, eventually, into the Devonshire for drinks...
...and more drinks...
Following the large lunch, we decided to eat in this evening...
Our TV sources were limited, given we cannot for the life of us recall our log in details for Netflix or Prime...
And so, this was started on the iPlayer - Anne opined it was not for her - I will persevere - but not until we are home and Anne is out...
Then, while Anne surfed on her iPad and researched what we will do over the next few days, Roger Waters, live in 2000 via YouTube entertained - a show we saw 2 years later in London - the famous ones where Nick Mason joined the band for "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" - entertained...
Two and a half hours flew by...
It's what holidays are for (some might argue)...
...and off to bed around 11:30 or so, with Waters' "DSOTM Redux" in the cans...
Gotta love Rog!
Holiday started...
Highlight of the Day: Return to that Grassington...
