Up this morning after a good day of listens and, indeed, sales on the Bandcamp for "Disquietmusik VIII"...

In fact, I discovered I was No 1 (something which, like the "real" charts, is a fleeting moment - though, here, lasting just a day, rather than a week at No 1 and then dropping to No 96 as happens in the "big" charts)...

...and I was No 13 with "Front Porch"...

...and I was No 18 with "Live Suite 2024/25"...

Anyway, I celebrated...

"It seems I'm currently the best seller on Bandcamp today with my latest LP, "Disquietmusik VIII".  Bloomin' heck!  That's certainly a turn up for the books - especially considering exactly how "leftfield" this LP is...

And I'm at Nos 13 and 18 with two more pretty "out there" LPs, "Front Porch: A Day Sitting in a Chair" and, the one I played recently at an Electronic Music Festival in Whitby, "Live Suite 2024/25"

...and, I'm also at Nos 13 and 18 with two more pretty "out there" LPs, "Front Porch: A Day Sitting in a Chair" and "Live Suite 2024/25" - amazing...."

Good times indeed...

And, of course, proof had to be recorded - indeed, as I write this tomorrow morning, the position has already changed and I have nothing in the listing...

But, today...

Anyway...

The usual...

A blurry start...

Then, into focus...

BOB is the best...

The weekend was here...

...and Xmas is coming...

The wee dog from over the road spotted me as I opened the living room blinds and came to say "hello"...

Post breakfast, out and a lift down the hill from the EP - for Anne, it was off on some provision related errands and then, this afternoon, to Tynecastle to watch Hearts thrash Dundee 2-0 and lift themselves off of bottom place - while, this evening, Queens would go down 2-1 at Arbroath - a 91st minute winner from the boys in maroon - goddammit)...

Anyway, getting ahead of myself a wee bit...

A bus to Shandwick Place and a walk to the Art College...

For this...

Not the workshop, the record fair...

Astonishingly, nothing secured...

Out...

To nearby bookshop Armchair Books, which is in receipt of an e-mail from me to see if they might be interested in some very old books from mum's house...

Mind you, they already have a few books...

Including some William S Burroughs, as looked at yesterday in Fopp...

Out and trudging around in the rain...

West Port Books, a refuge for a few minutes - here I perused Capt W E Johns' "Biggles" books, as you do...

Then, some charity shops, including Shelter at Tollcross...

Again, nothing...

Two buses to Haymarket from there, via a beer purchase at Shandwick Place, and to Rustom for a meet up with Malcolm "Crazy Wisdom" Logan...

As ever, he was late...

But, eventually, the Crazy Wisdom Xmas Lunch got underway, with crackers, hats and jokes...

Beers and Pakora...

...and a slap up feed (Malcolm exited later with a goodly amount of his King Prawn Biryani in a container in his bag)...

A long afternoon of top Indian fayre and much chat, partly re music - Malcolm provided me with some never heard before by me tunes from Crazy Wisdom, recorded back in 2002 - but mainly re trying to sort out matters re Talcy's work - questions he needs to ask etc etc - and, also, wondering why it was he was already pished when he arrived - up all night a-drinking and manically writing, apparently...

Then, it was over the road to Ryrie's for a final drink...

Around 4, we headed home...

Good skies...

...badly recorded...

Not to worry...

Some listening and ripping...

On Anne's return, for what looked like a tasty individual steak pie (nothing required for me)....

...we watched the first half of Arbroath v Queens (see above) then the "Strictly" semi-final...

Shocking scoring from Shirley and Anton...

I predict the two best dancers, JB and Tasha, will be in the dance off - and one of them will miss out on the final so that, absolute non-dancer (or "Mr Strictly", as Shirley called him), Pete Wicks, will get through - ridiculous...

If "what Strictly's all about" is watching someone who can't dance to save themselves very, very slightly improve each week and garner what can surely only be a massive sympathy vote, why don't they select 15 "celebrities who can't dance" for the show every year and see which of them is slightly less shit at dancing after three months?

Hmmm...

That's probably too much about "Strictly"...

Speaking of improvement, the Hearts highlights showed them to perhaps be improving and good to see Shankland finally scoring some goals again...

Later, not feeling too great (and despite the impression you might have gleaned from my notes above, I only had one and a half beers this afternoon) and, having fallen asleep listening to Andrés Segovia, I headed to bed at 10:45...

Asleep in minutes...

Highlight of the Day: Crazy Wisdom Xmas Lunch...
