Actual Xmas Eve!
I was excited...
The library was excited too...
Anne's mum's Konigssee paintings were added to the fray...
At eight, the new "best of" LP, second last of 2024, was set free...
...then, the podcast was put together and also unleashed...
I got caught up in a few End of Year LP lists here and found quite a few things which looked interesting (see below)...
Listening postponed for now though...
But maybe some will make my own year end list...
I now have 1,344 2024 Studio LPs in my library - over 51 twenty-four-hour days of music...
Uh oh...
Anyway, instead, an old and very enjoyable record was listened to...
I am liking the new set up - much more suitable to record playing than having the deck down in the corner of the table in the other room next to the hard drives...
...followed by the listen back to the podcast - should really do that before releasing it!
...accompanied by excerpts from a book, never previously opened - harrowing stuff...
At 12:15 into the car and over to Bearsden, arriving at 1:35 for some top chat with old chums Lex, Moira and Lindsay...
Tales from that London from Lindsay, updates provided to a couple of my mum and dad's oldest friends re how things were going with all mum's stuff...
Champagne and nibbles enjoyed...
Some music chat too - explanations as to what I'm up to these days and how it came about...
Chat too on Anne's mum...
All good...
Then, Xmas was about to be celebrated...
Crackers were pulled...
Hats were donned...
The Exec Producer looking particularly fine!
The beast maybe not so much...
Moira looking well...
Salmon was top...
Ginger beer enjoyed in honour of my mum...
...before Lindsay served the main course - turkey with all the trimmings...
...followed by Xmas pudding, including having been set on fire with brandy!
A game of "A Shot in the Dark" was very good too - it was impossible to know the answers - basically a game of "Here's a question, what's your best guess? Closest wins"...
A bit like "House of Games" with Richard Osman - a man who lives near Lindsay and Guy in Ealing and whom she often sees walking by the river - him and that Claire Baulding...
A good story too re a meet at a book signing with Paul Whitehouse - a multiple book signing, where Stanley Tucci was drawing all the crowds, allowing Lindsay a one on one with Mr W...
"Fucking Stanley Tucci" they both agreed...
London is good, I think...
Word from Guy back home re today in the wine shop - a good day, sales wise...
Just what you need on Xmas Eve...
Made us recall our days in Reptile Records, where Xmas Eve was always a bonanza...
Around 6:45, we said our farewells and, an hour later we were back home...
Did I mention it was Xmas Eve?
Into our onesies once again...
...and our 170 today on "Xmas University Challenge" beat last night's unmentioned 165, thanks to a final shout of "Dali!!"...
Then, the Aussie ""Death in Paradise" spin off...
And the top notch (already seen and enjoyed but worth seeing again) film "Peter Rabbit 2" - brilliant animation...
To bed just after midnight with Xmas in my ears...
You've got to love Xmas Eve!
Highlight of the Day : It was Xmas Eve and we were visiting old chums!
