First of two days prepping the end of year round up of "rare and unreleased stuff"...

But tomorrow would be the major day for this...

Anyway...

Up late...

I suddenly noticed how good the walls in the bathroom are...

An enhanced square pic could well be an ECM cover (or, even, a Crispycat cover)...

Anyway, yes, work done on compiling what's to be on "Twentytwentyfour" and trying my damnedest to find all the necessary files...

Then, around 10:30, out to my mum's house for some more organising and chucking out of stuff...

Almost there - still "almost" but, you know...

Living room now cleared...

Dining room with just the stuff to be uplifted "soon"...

...and possible things for auction (or bin if not)...

Hall empty...

Mum and dad's room, empty...

Sheila and Pam's room, empty...

...apart from mum's wedding dress, lurking in the cupboard...

Bathroom, virtually empty...

My room?

Well...

Some more cassettes discovered...

These added to other "original" cassettes for charity...

This, bought from our shop in the 90's...

Unavailable now it seems but I can no doubt recreate it for posterity...

No need to do so with the rest though...

Home made tapes, sadly, binned...

A crystal container contained Pam's old (non-valuable) jewelry and stuff...

Recorded for posterity here...

I am unsure as to whether this is a lock of Pam's hair - but it might be...

No idea who else's it could be...

This baby bracelet is the only thing of value, monetarily of course...

A rabbit's foot...

Hmmm...

What was inside the Lipton's bag, Dave?

These...

...some with intriguing labels - I have a reel to reel recorder in the attic, not fired up for many, many years...

Holiday?

Christmas 1966 - my dad used to record us on Xmas morning...

Top of the Pops 1970...

Royal Command Performance 1970...

Top of the Pops 1968...

"Voices end of track 4"?

These remain of my mum's and Pam's stuff...

These, photos, home videos and various (mainly religious) books received by various family members as prizes etc...

Things I might bring back - Anne is against the sticks (and everything else no doubt)...

The cardboard box contains seldom seen photos of our wedding in 1983...

Cassettes and records for charity and the box containing items re the Loanhead Gala Day (including Pam's crown!) for archivist Alan McLaren, if I can reach him...

If not...

Books taken away today for selling/charity...

This the sum total of today's chucking out...

Mostly my dad's cassettes and pam's brochures and tickets from her trip to America...

Emerged from the house to find a flat tyre...

Pumped up pre the journey home, via a book shop which was closed despite its website saying it was open...

Annoying...

Took Anne to her mum's then to the tyre place - young Kieran remembered me from the last time...

An hour's wait, so, a walk about...

In the cancer shop, a DVD player with HDMI output for £8...

Car collected - a screw had been found and the tyre repaired for £25...

To Anne's mum's to pick Anne up...

Home, then Anne off to the shops...

Me?

I did a switcheroo re the Blu Ray and the "new" DVD...

...which included necessarily photographing the rear of the amp in the back room...

Anyway, accessing the sound files on a BluRay remains elusive without it being attached to a screen of some sort...

Fuck and, indeed, sake...

Not to worry...

Oh and the remote for the "new" DVD player is goosed due to old batteries having been left inside it to rust...

Records played anyway...

...and, on Anne's return Quiche potatoes and asparagus for tea and some telly - the last of "Return to Paradise" - it's been enjoyable...

We won "Xmas I=University Challenge" again - 165...

Sucked in to watching "The Split: Barcelona"...

Then, more work on the end of year project...

And some funk discovered via BlueSky...

And a new remote ordered for £2 more than the cost of the DVD player...

So it goes...

Bed...

Highlight of the Day : Mum's house slightly closer to empty...
