And so we embark on the eighth year of consecutive daily blogging and the question is, will the drivel quotient dwindle?
Sadly, probably not...
Anyway, a beautiful day today...
At lunchtime, the Exec Producer and your correspondent, walked past Princes St Gardens...
...through the Grassmarket and up Victoria Street...
...along George IV Bridge...
...to St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile...
...to attend a celebration of the long and fulfilled life of the Reverend Norman C Macrae, sending him off on his final journey...
“Uncle Norrie” as we affectionately referred to him over the years, was the minister at my mum and dad’s church from 1969 to 1985 and his youngest son, Rory, was a best friend of mine during our school days...
Like all the best funerals, it was moving and, in parts, funny...
On the way out, we picked up a copy of Norman’s book, which tells the story of his life...
After the service we walked back down to Princes Street by the Mound, which afforded a good view of the city...
In the early evening, on the way to Haymarket to catch the bus home, the moon was out...
Back home, work was undertaken while Anne was off keeping fit and Zumba-ing with chum Lynn...
Later on, I started initial prep for the as yet to be finalised covers gig with Jamie – learning songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elvis Presley, Van Morrison, Stereophonics and Bruce Springsteen...
Onwards and upwards...
Highlight of the Day : A celebration...

Thanks David, this is lovely. Glad you were there.
Rory
Your father was an inspiration to many Rory and it was great to hear the stories of his life and to hear him again on the website, reading from his book...
Great memories of our days at the Manse - you, me, Sandy - too many people gone...
